I would like to edit a grid file containing null values. I couldn't figure out how to replace null values with a specified value. The only way I found is to manual edit the grid with Rockworks utilities. Is a there a better approach? Thanks, Daniele

Hy Alison, I use AutoCAD to draw and share maps describing the environmental remediation options involved in the cleanup project. I get a custom layout with same scale, legend, symbols, notes which is difficult to convert in ReportWorks. I also note that the PDF from ReportWorks plot is rather a image map than a vector map, getting the document viewing process time consuming. Is there a way to plot profile with a distant axis computed from the starting to the ending point instead of X Y axis? You were right about assigning a different material type to the “A” intervals that fall below B but I choosed the Lihology model just to avoid the manual re-assignent of lithology strata. Thank you. Hi, I've a Lithology Solid Model. I need a profile in DXF format to be edited in Autocad. I choose Lithology -> Profile and export it in DXF format. The DXF file contains lots of polyline and polygon objects except from the surface profile which is a single polyline, as one would expect. Is there a way to get single polyline (or even more polylines, depending from the solid model complexity) for each Lithology materials? I get the same result if I choose Solid Model -> Profile. Is it the same? It's seem to me that the only difference is the color fill option. I've built a Lithology Model form 10 boreholes with materials A and B. Many boreholes have material A above material B, but some boreholes have sequence A (A1) B A (A2) . I choose Lithology -> Isopach -> Material A and I get the isopach contouring values of material A in each domain cell. If the solid model sequence is A (A1) B A (A2), the isopach for material A is obtained from the top of A (A1) and the bottom of A (A2). Is it correct? How can I get separate isopach from material A (A1) and A (A2)? Thank you. Daniele

I filled the Datasheet with both est/north UTM and lat long coordinate and I choose KML -> Multiple Points (Flexible). I cannot find in the tree items (left side of the attached screenshot) the Custom Icon item to be checked to use custom icon files, as described in the instruction tab (left side of the attached screenshot). How can I show the Custom Icon item? My workround was: - create KMZ file - unzip it as a normal ZIP file - change the image file with my custom icon file (64 pixel png image) - repack and rename the KMZ file Regards, D Lattuada

I've installed RKW in Windows 7 64bit Italian language. I set International options with . (point) for decimal separator and , (comma) for thousands separator. When I run any contouring map with Diagam options | Contour option checked I get no contouring output even if I get the right Contour Intervals in the confirm dialog box. I'd also checked the foreground and background color not to be the same. If I set RWK to use Colored interval I get the right map. Any suggestion? Regards Daniele

I'd to fix some duplicate I-Data resulting in import/export/update routines (from/to Excel). I was successful in remove duplicates and get the new model with Project -> Database Integrity (Check Database Integrity). Regards, Daniele

Hi Alison, I understood that you were referencing on I-Data model. In the attached image you can see 2 profiles. The upper profile is obtained by 1) creating the lithological solid model (closest point) 2) exporting the solid model to XYZG 3) create a new Solid model with Vertical Distance Cutoff. In the lower one the same profile is obtained by the starting lithological solid model (closest point). In the S1031 the gray material is interpolated correctly in the upper profile and not in the lower one, as it extends far under the lithology unit. I need to correct this anomaly (green arrow). The profile from the Lithology Solid Model obtainend with Lithoblending algorithm doesn't show the anomaly, but I rather prefer the closest point algorithm. I also need to correct the solid model to fill the differnce from the topographic surface (red arrow) and the material top elevation in the upper profile. Regards, Daniele

I tried the Solid Modelin Options "Distance Cutoffs" - Vertical CutOffs Options, Map Units = 1.0 m or 0.5 m for the I-Data -> Solid Model. These options are not avaliable in the Lithologyc -> Solid model. I only found in the Lithology Model Options -> Closest Point, the Distance Cutoff Filter but it seems to me that enabling and changing value affects only the xy solid model and not the z value. I also tried to export the Lithological Solid Model to the Utilities Datagrid with Lithology > Export to XYZG File (with Sample at Regular Intervals set to 0.1, the z model depth resolution) and then buid a New Solid Model with the Vertical CutOffs Options as I did for the I-Data Solid Model. Is there a quick way to do it? Daniele

Thank you for your support. What I was looking is the Soldid -> Math -> Model (lithology model) x Moldel (boolean contaminant model). As you point out, the models must have same dimension and I had to check them before attenpting to performe any math operation. I followed the steps you provide me in the forum's replay and I got the map I was looking at. The map doesn't look as I aspected because of the contaminant model. In fact the contaminat map is made by values in the I-data table. As you can see from the attached image section the contamination in S1001 is not limitend by a lower not contaminated sample. The resulting map yield to overstimate contamination in G2 materials. Thank you. Daniele

That's ok. I don't have contaminated G1! Neither G2! I only have contamination (which refers to G1 or G2) and solid model (or boolean model) for G1, G2 and both G1 and G2.

Thank you for your answers, but I'm still in trouble. I've already followed what you suggested me, but I could't get what I'm looking for. I choose Solid -> Model & Model and multiply between a Lithological solid model with boolean values (1 for material G1) and a I-Data contamination solid model with boolean values (1 for contaminated sample) with same xyz and node spacing. Then I made a surface map with Solid -> Convert -> Solid to Grid. In the resulting map I get the material G1 matching the contamination related to G1 AND G2 (where G2 and G1 are BOTH present). This issue arise when I've G1 AND G2 BOTH present. How can I separate contamination for G1 and G2 when they both are present? Regards, Daniele

I've built a lithologic solid model with materials G1 and G2. I've a Surface map and different coloured map (if a material is present the value is set =1 , otherwise the value is set =0 ) obtained from Solid -> Booleand Conversion and Solid -> Solid to Grid Tools: one for G1, one for G2 and another one with both G1 and G2. I add some I-Data: I set value =0 for not contaminated sample, value =1 for contaminated sample. I plot a coloured map of the contaminated area. How can I do to get the contaminated area matching with the lithology information? I could only get contamination matching materials regardless of the contaminated lithology. I would like to associate the contamination to the lithology. In the attached PDF scheme the red area at the botton of the page is contaminated: but how can I get information about the source of contamination (G1 or G2) whithout plotting Multi log map with I data? Hi Molly, both the Grafix / 2D Utilities / Export menu and the View RCL.. menu let me save lot of time in automating repetitive tasks. I suggest also the ReportWorks, a little bit unfriendly, but usefull to print RK6 linked representations as soon as they change. Thank you. Daniele

Yes, I would like to have a 2d "map showing the extents of the two different lithology types, and where they overlap". I don't need a plan view obtained from a model slice at a particular elevation. I would like to separate the whole area in 3 different zones as illustrated in the 3rd picture of my previous attached pdf file: 1. G=1 only 2. G=2 only 3. G=1 and G=2 When I'll get the 3 zones I will filter the model with a polygon representing the 3 zones' boundaries . Thank you Daniele Lattuada

Hi Molly, I attached a PDF showing what I would like to do in Rockworks. Starting from the Lithology model, I get the Surface map (outcrops for materials G=1 and G=2), described in the PDF's 1st picture. As I show in the 2nd picture, there is an area (plan area) where materials G=1 and G=2 are both present. Both present means to me that I found material G=1 and G=2 in the same drilled borehole (the same results come out in the lithology model built from the same boreholes). I would like to show the intersection beetwen material G=1 with G=2 as illustrated in 3th picture. Is it possible? Thank you. DLattuada

I've built a lithology solid model with A, B and C materials with corresponding G values 1, 2 and 3. I would like to map areas where A and B are both present. I tried: 1) Solid Model Boolean Filter and I filter for G=1 (thresholds Lower/Upper both set to 1). The resulting boolean model contains 1 values if material A is present. I call it G1 2) Solid Model Boolean Filter and I filter for G=2 (thresholds Lowe/Upper both set to 2). The resulting boolean model contains 1 values if material B is present. I call it G2 3) Solid Model Boolean Filter and I filter for G=1 e 2 (thresholds Lower=1, Upper=2). The resulting boolean model contains 1 values if material A e B are present (single and both). I'm too. I'm using the same topographic surface. I'm looking to get the lithotypes outcrops, as I could see from an aerial photo. In Lithology Surface Map, setting the topographic surface, I get the attached figure [forum-01-solid model surface map 1.jpg]. I finally get what I was looking for, following you step by step instructions: 1) Boolean Model, 2) Solid Model / Convert / Solid -> Grid (Highest Elevation of the Highest G-Value) and 3) Lithology Surface Model with the new Grid Model Elevation retrieved from the Solid Model (Attached file: [02-outcrops-boolean.jpg]). I also rebuild the solid model setting the Buffer size to 0 in the Upper Surface (Grid) Filter. OK Ok, I've set the Z spacing according to the resolution of the lithology intervals. I'm interested in finding the uppermost surface of a solid model regardless of a particulare G-value. I've built a lithology solid model with Boreholes data AND a topographic map. If I choose Lithology Surface Map I don't get the contour map because only a single cell is visible (elevation > topographic grid elevation - Fig forum-01-solid model surface map 1.jpg) If I offset the topographic grid by -0.5 m and create a new Lithology surface map I get all cell visible (sorry but there is an error in uploading this file even if the size is smaller than requested - This file was too big to upload). In Fig. forum-01-solid model profile.jpg you can see a solid model profile (the red line is the topographic profile). How can I get the uppermost surface of the solid model in order to get the surface map? Thank you. DLattuada

I've build a lithology model. Now I need to evaluate the material upper top most map (2d) as I would see it from an airplane. I tried the superface map but it doesn't appear to me the right answer. Example: A material C material R B material R material C I would like to have a map of the upper most material. So C around A e R around B. I'm not interested in thickness, but preferably boolean values or missing value if I'm mapping the other material. Any suggestion? Thank you.
