student
This a general question, but I have been unable to find the answer. Does anyone know what the parameters are of the wells used in petrasim? I'm interested in knowing the thickness of the casing and the radius of the wells. Also, is there any way to change these parameters? thank you.
Alison
The wells in PetraSim are really just meant to identify the cells that are intersected by the well, and to apply the appropriate sources/sinks for each cell. This is not a true coupled well model, so the well radius and casing is not taken into account. If you choose the "well on deliverability" option for a production well, then the productivity index value does taking into account a well radius and skin factor. You can find more about this on page 64 of the TOUGH2 manual. The well model option (which can't be applied to wells, but can be applied to individual cells allows you to link to output from wellbore flow simulation, which would presumably take into account the well radius. This is documented on page 66 of the TOUGH2 manual. Thanks, Alison
