When importing boreholes from Excel with bitmap data I always get the "Bitmap "File name" is bad" error message no matter what I do. When trying to export bitmap data from rockworks as excel table I always get the "invalid index" error. Do you know what could be the problem here?

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to generate a XYZG solid using a pretty simple datasheet with Easting and Northing Columns (both in UTM feet), elevation of various points, and some pH values. However whenever I try to actually execute the XYZG to Solid Model, it throws the error: "All nodes are undefined" with no other info (see below). At this point I'm a bit stumped because I've popped it into a fresh project, tried trimming down the datasheet to only contain the relevant information, and have even tried feeding in some dummy data, still to no avail.

I've tested the points and they fit within the project extent when just generated as 3D points, so I know that there's no issues in that regard, but I'm not sure what else it could be at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Error importing from MSSQL-Database

When importing form a SQL-Database we get the follwing error:

(sorry it's german).

I attach the import template for further reference and a screenshot.

My questions:

What is the problem with the import?

Why are the connection settings not stored in the template file attached?

Error message regarding OpenGL Driver buffers.

Hello good day peeps!
Whenever i create numerous lithologic models and try to rotate one of them i get an error message stating:
"Unable to swap OpenGL software-based driver buffers. Please switch to hardware-based OpenGL"
I turned on hardware based OpenGL in Preference-->Rockplot setting but its still showing the same message.

Any solution for this would be highly appreciated! Thank you!

When I try to import data from Excel file it has an error "Call was rejected by callee". That data file I have tried with Rockwork 15 and it was ok.

Limit Model to selected G-Values

I am trying to create a lithology profile in Rockworks17 where only some of the lithology types are displayed. I tried to use the "Limit Model to selected G-Values" filter, but no matter how I change the G-values, the model is always the same. I also tried to use the "Create Filtering/Sampling Report" option, but said report is nowhere to be found. Does this filter actually do anything?

Hydrogen Injection Rate

Hi,

I am trying to input the injection rate of hydrogen very low such as 10E-14 since my model is small. But the model gets the steady state after two seconds of starting and gives no results. Is the system valid for range of values only. Also, I insert the value of enthalpy of 4E-6 at 25c for the temperature, but I am not sure that this value is valid or not. I get it from a table on google.

Grid Import Bitmap error: Invalid XY Units

I am trying to import a TIFF raster generated in ArcGIS to RockWorks as my ground surface. I keep getting the error "Invalid XY units - Undefined". I have checked that the xy extent of my TIFF encloses my project extent. The TIFF and project are in the same datum and units. I have adjusted several raster export settings in ArcGIS and generated several files with different settings (good ol' trial and error) and get the same error. Can you please tell me what else could specifically triggers this error?

Error Loading MIDAS.dll - RockWorks20xx

The Midas.dll error can occur when RockWorks20xx is launched. It is caused by the midas.dll file not being properly registered. To correct that follow the steps below.

Close RockWorks.
Open up a command prompt by selecting the windows button + R at the same time.
Type cmd into the Run window like the screenshot below which will bring up the command prompt window.
On the first line after C:\Users\Username type (or copy and paste) in: cd "c:\program files\rockware\rockworks20\" and hit Enter.
That should bring up a second command line starting with c:\Program Files\Rockware\Rockworks20\ and after that type (or copy and paste) in: regsvr32 midas.dll and hit Enter.

A window should then pop up saying: DllRegisterServer in midas.dll succeeded. Below is a screenshot of what this should roughly look like.

If the error persists, users have found that running a registry cleaner solves the problem, presumably by removing conflicting references to the DLL.

If you have changed your preferences to have the Help Documentation downloaded locally onto your computer, you may receive an Access Error violation when upgrading to RockWorks Revision 2021.2.9. This error occurs as there is an issue with correctly unzipping the updated Help Documentation onto your computer. If you do receive this error message, please follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

The best way to correct this problem is to edit your RockWorks System.ini file. To get to this file you will need to go to C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local\RockWare\RockWorks20, and then open the System.ini file in a text editor like Notepad. AppData is a hidden folder, so you can either type it into the file path at the top, or in your File Explorer options check the Hidden Items option.

Once you have the System.ini file open in a text editor, you will need to scroll down to the HELP_FROM_INTERNET option and change it from =0 to =1, and then save the file.

After you have saved the System.ini file with that change, then please start up RockWorks again and hopefully this should resolve the issue. After RockWorks has started up you can go back into the preferences option and re-select saving the help file locally.

I wanted to create an multiple tables export to an excel file when I stumbled upon following error:

So, naturally, I performed a database integrity check and every datatype was verified except the 'Production' as you can see below.

Now I'm left with the question on how to solve this problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem before?

Unfilled block in Statigraphic Model

Hi, I have developed the block model as per rockware tutorial and the striplogs etc resulted as expected. However when I process the statigraphic model, the model does not resulted as the usual model. The shapes does not fill in the outline box and there are some of the layers could not be seen unless it is set to explode view. Can someone advice me on why does my statigraphic block model does not fill in the box as in the Figure 1. The objective of my task was to develop the model as per Figure 2.

RockWare migrated its website to a new server last weekend, and this resulted in users seeing this error message when trying to do an automatic download of a RockWorks17 program update.

There is no grabber capable of handling URL: (installer file)

If your maintenance is current, you can manually download the latest installer for RockWorks17 from our Product Updates page:
https://www.rockware.com/support/rockworks-support/rockworks-downloads/rockworks-product-updates/

Once you have downloaded the installer for RockWorks17, just run it to install over the top of your current copy of the program, don't uninstall first or you'll lose your licensing.

We hope to have the issue remedied soon.

How to specify the depth interval to plot in the striplog

I tried to plot the logs for one single well using striplog, but the deeper depth can not show on the plot, it only shows the shallower depth.

I cannot find the option to adjust the depth interval to display. Any suggestions?
