Explore RockWorks diagrams in your browser
The RockPlot3D Web Viewer opens RockWorks .Rw3D diagrams for interactive viewing. Files selected from your computer are processed locally in the browser and are not uploaded.
Getting started
- Select Open or Choose an Rw3D file.
- Choose a RockWorks .Rw3D file. You can also drag the file onto the viewer.
- Wait while the diagram is read and drawn. Large diagrams may take several minutes.
A diagram opened from the RockWorks 3D Gallery or from a RockWorks HTML export loads automatically.
Linked files: A portable Rw3D includes its referenced images. A conventional Rw3D may require its linked image files to remain available beside the diagram.
Navigate the diagram

Toolbar
Open
Choose another Rw3D diagram from your computer.
Reset
Restore the initial camera position and display settings.
Rotate / Pause
Start or stop automatic rotation.
White / Black
Switch the background color. Black or white axes and text automatically change when needed for contrast.
Copy
Copy the current diagram image to the clipboard.
Stats, Legends, Data, and Orientation
Show or hide the corresponding information panels. Panels can be dragged by their headings.
View and Lighting
Adjust vertical exaggeration, model position, and scene lighting.
Gallery
Browse example RockWorks diagrams and open one in the viewer.
Control and inspect data
The Data panel follows the RockPlot3D geological data tree. Use its checkboxes to show or hide individual models, logs, cages, surfaces, and other geological entities. Display by object type provides optional global filters for graphical object types.
Click a visible object to open Selected Object information. Select Clear Selection to remove the highlight.
Troubleshooting
The diagram takes a long time to load
Large or detailed diagrams require more time to decompress, interpret, and draw. Leave the tab open while the loading message is displayed.
The viewer does not reflect a recent update
Refresh the page while holding Ctrl, or use Ctrl+F5, to replace cached website files.
Some images are missing
Re-create the diagram as a portable Rw3D so referenced images are included, or keep the linked files available in their original locations.
Help is not listed
Help is stored online and appears when the browser reports an internet connection. The About command remains available offline.
