make it easier to use. Also, a new program titled "
Quadrants"
has been added to the sub-menu. These programs are summarized within
this video --->
Creating
Stratigraphic Models Based On Grid Files

- (159- Cosmetic) The Grids -> Stratigrahic Model | Explode
program does not have options for plotting logs and a reference cage
because they won't register correctly (i.e. they don't make sense).
- (160-Improvement) The Cutoff Column is no longer
required if the new Grids -> Stratigraphic Model | Explode |
Apply Thickness Cutoff Filter option is disabled.
- (161-Cosmetic) The The Grids -> Stratigrahic Model | Explode

diagrams, profiles, and models using an existing I-Data or P-Data model, the
layer title is now properly based on the model name.
(149)
Bug Fix (09/19/16/JCJ): The
Database
Statistics program no longer generates an error message describing
a missing "}" character.
(148)
Bug Fix (09/17/16/JCJ): When creating an
SQLite project based on an
SQL Server project, the
Data Dictionary is now created and the data is correctly copied from the
original project.
(146-147)
Improvements (09/17/16/JPR): The Utilities |
Solid | Filters |
GeoBody Filter program has been
completely redesigned. The changes are described as follows:
- (146) The program has been renamed to "Continuity Filter".
- (147) The G-Value Tolerance has been replaced by "Minimum G-Value"
and "Maximum G-Value" parameters that make it much easier to specify a
range of values to be evaluated for continuity. For example, if
porous lithotypes within a lithology model have been assigned
"groupable" values (e.g. Sand=5, Gravelly Sand=6, Sandy Gravel=7,
Gravel=8), assigning the Minimum G-Value to 5.0 and the Maximum G-Value
to 8.0 will identify geobodies (contiguous regions) composed of Sand,
and/or Gravelly Sand, and/or Sandy Gravel, and/or Gravel.
- (148) The continuity algorithm is an faster than
the previous implementations although it can still take quite a long
time (>15 minutes) for large, high-resolution models.
- (149) A new option titled "Video Help" has been
added to the menu. Clicking on the adjacent "Watch Video" will
display this video --->
https://youtu.be/rJ_vBBYdpJ0?list=PLvWHYOlqEHw7PVuie-kMsoVXp6l-Zc6f_
(145)
New Feature (09/16/16/JPR): A new program titled
"
Multivariate Map" has been added to the Borehole Manager |
Lithology menu.

This program is used to create maps of pie charts or starbursts that depict
the relative amounts of various lithologies within the vicinity of each
diagram.

The "Watch Video" button at the base of the menu provides more
information about this new program To view this video now, click

(143-144)
New Feature (09/12/16/JPR): The
Utilities
| Imagery | Rectify program now includes an option for using the
NW, NE, and SE project corners as the calibration points. This
eliminates the cumbersome step of typing or copy/pasting these coordinates
into the menu.

- (144) A video help button titled "Using Google
Earth to Create a Project Image" has been added to the
Rectify menu. To view this video now, click here --->
https://youtu.be/-uH3FE7Bl2Y

(142)
Bug Fix (09/13/16/JCJ): The program now
automatically adds additional fields correctly when importing data from
LogPlot8.
(140-141)
New Feature (09/12/16/JPR): The
Utilities
| Grid | Grids -> Solid Model program now includes options that
determine if the G-Value column contains a numeric value or the name(s) of
grid file(s). If a grid file is used, the solid model will use the
z-value from the grid to define the voxel values between the confining
surfaces.

This new capability is designed for instances in which a
grid is considered to be representative of the values within a block model
as contstrained by two surface models. For example, let's say that we
have a grid model representing contamination within a saturated zone.
The original data used to create the contamination grid is based on bailer
samples from monitor wells in which the samples are considered to be
representative of the entire interval between the two constraining surfaces.
Although this data can be block-modeled, it's easier and faster to use this
tool instead. In addition, the gridding tools may be preferable to the
block modeling tools.
- (141) A video help button has been added to the
Grids -> Solid Model menu. To view this video now, click here --->

This progam contains three tabs:
- File Selection: Defines the
IHS 298 Production input file,
- Borehole Options: Defines the IHS field that
contains the well name that will be mapped to the RockWorks borehole ID
field and determining what will happen with existing records.
- Location Fields: For mapping the IHS location
data into the appropriate RockWorks location fields.

Upon completion, the program will either add or update existing wells to
the RockWorks Borehole Manager and the production data will be added to
the Production table for each well as shown below.

Note: If the IHS field that represents the number of days produced during
the month is zero, but the oil or gas production numbers are greater than
zero, the program will automatically set the number of days produced within
the RockWorks Production Table to the number of days within that month (e.g.
January = 31, February = 28, etc.).
(105)

(096)
New Feature (08/21/16/JPR): A new feature
called "
Hyperbolic" has been added to the
Custom
Color Palette menu.

This new feature is used for creating custom color tables in which contour
intervals above a specified threshold are scaled hyperbolically (doubled
with each interval), thereby shifting the "hotter" colors towards the
threshold thereby diminishing the overwhelming effects of outliers (e.g.
outrageously high, but valid data points). In the example below, the
map on the left uses a linear scale while the map on the right, based on the
same grid model, uses a hyperbolic color scale in which the threshold was
set to the mean plus one standard deviation.

Custom hyperbolic color tables can also be used with
3-D surfaces, voxel model diagrams, and 3-D striplogs as shown by the
diagrams below.

(095)

plotting faults intersections
within sections and profiles has been implemented.
(073)
Bug Fix (07/21/16/JCJ): The
menu trees
no longer produce sporadic "Access Violations".
(072)
New Feature (07/12/16/JCJ): The Borehole Manager
| File | Import |
LAS | Multiple Files menu now allows the
user to "Link to Borehole" based on the
File Name.

This new capability is a godsend when importing LAS files that do not have
any embedded well identification (e.g. Well Name, API Number, UWI Value) as
shown by the following screenshot in which seven LAS files, all without
embedded ID information, are to be imported.

In the example depicted below, seven borehole records, with well names
equivalent to the names of the LAS files (sans ".LAS" suffixes) have been
created and the selected curve data ("GAMM") has been properly imported.
