RockWorks/17 Revision History
2015/Q2 (04/01/15-06/30/15)
(063) Cosmetic (05/27/15/JPR): All RCL commands and parameters that begin with a numeric character (e.g. "3D_FAULT_STYLE") have been changed such they don't begin with a numeric value (e.g. "FAULT_STYLE_3D"). This change has been made in order to make the RCL more acceptable to programs that attempt to parse text into numbers if the first character is numeric.
(062) New Feature (05/13/15/MMM): The Help Messages include a new "Navigation Bar" at the top of the page that provides hyperlinks to parent topics. For example, if you're in the P-Data Statistics Map menu, you can quickly move up to read more about P-Data statistical tools in general.
(058-061) New Feature (05/13/15/MMM): The Help Messages include a new option in the upper-left corner labeled "Show". Clicking on the Show option will display options that include;
(058) an expanding/collapsing table of contents,
(059) an outline-style index to all topics,
(060) a search tool, and
(061) a glossary of terminology.
(057) Improvement (05/13/15/MMM): The Help Messages that appear within the Instructions tab of all RockWorks menus are now located within "The Cloud".
Disadvantages:
The Instructions may not appear as quickly on a machine with a slow Internet connection.
The Instructions will not appear on computers that don't have an Internet connection.
Advantages:
The RockWorks download takes less time which can be very important for users with slow Internet connections.
Updates to the help message don't require that the user download the latest version.
RockWorks now requires less storage space on a computer or server.
The help messages may be accessed outside of RockWorks (e.g. via a web browser search).
(056) New Feature (05/12/15/JPR): The Borehole Manager / Stratigraphy / Model / Interpolation Options now support 3D Faults (i.e. non-vertical surfaces).
This new capability provides a means to use 3D triangulation networks to constrain the modeling of surfaces.
(055) New Feature (05/12/15/JPR): The Borehole Manager / Stratigraphy / Model / Diagram Options menu now includes an option for plotting faults within the stratigraphy diagram.
This eliminates the extra steps involved with creating a fault diagram and appending it to the stratigraphy diagram.
(054) New Feature (05/12/15/JPR): The Utilities / Faults / Multiple Dip LIsts -> 3D Fault File program now has options for automatically plotting the faults in 3D after the 3D fault file has been created.
(053) New Feature (05/12/15/JPR): The Utilities / Faults / Single Dip List -> 3D Fault File program now has options for automatically plotting the fault in 3D after the 3D fault file has been created.
(052) New Feature (05/12/15/JPR): A new program titled "3D Fault File -> 3D Diagram" has been added to the Utilities / Faults menu.
This program provides a variety of options for displaying the triangles within a 3D fault file.
Diagrams depicting 3D fault triangles may be subsequently combined with other diagram as shown below.
(051) Cosmetic (05/12/15/JPR): The Stratigraphic Model Diagram options have been relocated from the tree-style menu into a new Diagram Options dialog that is accessed by clicking on the new "Options" button that is adjacent to the "Diagram" item within the tree-style menus. This new dialog includes diagrams that will hopefully make the options more self-explanatory.
(050) Cosmetic (05/10/15/JPR): The Clip (Truncate Logs) sub-options have been relocated from the tree-style menu into a new Clipping Options dialog that is accessed by clicking on the new "Options" button that is adjacent to the "Clop (Truncate Logs)" checkbox within the tree-style menus. This new dialog includes diagrams that will hopefully make the options more self-explanatory.
(049) Cosmetic (05/10/15/JPR): A variety of 3D Point Plotting options have been relocated from the tree-style menus into a new 3D-Points Options dialog that is accessed by clicking on the new "Options" button that is adjacent to the "Control Points" checkbox within the tree-style menus. This new dialog includes diagrams that will hopefully make the options more self-explanatory.
(014-048) Cosmetic (05/05/15/JPR): A variety of block diagram options have been relocated from the tree-style menus into a new Diagram Options dialog that is accessed by clicking on the new "Options" button that is adjacent to the "Create 3-Dimensional Diagram" checkbox within the tree-style menus. This new dialog includes diagrams that will hopefully make the options more self-explanatory.
34 of the RockWorks menus (e.g. I-Data Volume, Solid Density Conversion, etc.) have been modified to use this new dialog.
(007-013) Cosmetic (04/26/15/JPR): The 3D legend options for the following programs are now accessed via an "Options" button that is adjacent to the "Include ___ Legend" within the tree-style menu.
(007) 3D Striplogs
(008) Aquifers / Model
(009) Aquifers / Fence
(010) Lithology / Model
(011) Lithology / Fence
(012) Stratigraphy / Model
(013) Stratigraphy / Fence
This change helps to declutter the menus.
(006) New Feature (04/26/15/JPR): The Borehole Manager / Stratigraphy / Profile and Section menus now include an Options button adjacent to the Show Faults option that allows the user to define either 2-D or 3-D faulting.
(005) New Feature (04/26/15/JPR): The Gridding Options / Fault sub-menu now includes an option for using 3D faults.
(004) Improvement (05/15/15/MMM): The RockWorks help messages are now located in the "cloud".
(003) Cosmetic (04/04/15/JPR): A new program titled "Lithology G-Values -> I-Data Column" has been added to the Borehole Manager / Lithology / Lithology -> I-Data menu. This program will copy the g-values for the lithology to a designated column within the I-Data table.
(002) Cosmetic (04/04/15/JPR): The Borehole Manager / Lithology -> I-Data program has been renamed to "Lithology G-Values -> Conversion Table -> I-Data Column" and relocated within a new sub-menu with the heading "Lithology -> I-Data" (see screen-show above).
(001) Removal (04/03/00/JPR): The decimal place options within the Borehole Manager / Lithology / Lithology -> I-Data menu have been removed. They are now automatically determined by the program.
