I've discovered that the radio buttons to change to software based OpenGL in the RockPlot3D About box isn't working, Try changing to software from the RockWorks Preferences dialog and see if that helps. We do sometimes encounter issues with certain manufacturers OpenGL drivers and find that the difference in performance isn't noticeable between the 2 modes. If you go to the RockPlot3D About dialog there is an "OpenGL Troubleshooting" tab that has information on you drive. Please copy that to this thread. Mitch

Does this only happen with this scene or others as well? At what point does this occur and what is the last thing you did? Have you tried switching to Software-based OpenGL? Mitch

Hi Divya, the problem is that you only have a file path not a full file name. Without the bug report I can't say where the missing name is occurring but you may have a stratigraphy layer without a name or you're also creating a solid model with no name. Those are not LogPlot file extensions that I know of but 1998 was a while ago. You can send some examples to support or upload them here and I'd be happy to take a look at them and see if I can identify them.

You can open the DB in a number of different DBM programs and change the name of the field. If you're using the Sqlite (default) we recommend Sqlite Browser (https://sqlitebrowser.org/). Rockworks won't be able to address the field except in SQL queries.

There are 2 Lidar programs. one creates a grid under Grid|Grid Create and one that creates a Triangle Mesh under Utilities|3D. It sounds like you're doing the first. The question is how many cells there are in your grid. Its a common mistake to set grid dimensions that are too large. While your Lidar data has a very fine resolution, using that resolution will end up with a grid surface that is unwieldy. While there is no fixed limit to the size of a grid it would be good idea to limit the grid size to 300 x 300. You can adjust from there. Let us know what dimensions you're using.

Hi Julia, its using Inverse Distance based on all the data in the Filter method and in the Sector Based it also uses Inverse Distance but based on 1 sample per sector. Mitch

Its not obvious but you can right click on the Edit-Text table and select "Edit Rows and Groups". You can then select an item and drag it within the current group. Save it as a data template so you don't have to do this for every new file.

If you don't want the fill turn it off. In this case for less busy curves you could turn on the Resample option using Weighted Average or Cubic Spline. This may be fairly slow if you have a lot of points. Another option would be to Truncate the logs for a certain interval or increase the Vertical Exaggeration to spread the data vertically.

You can turn off the fill in the 2D Log Design tab. Select the active P-Data column and go to Fill Options. You can also change the Scaling options and turn off G-Value Filters and Resampling if they're on. Aming the column wider may help as well.

I'd look at your cutoff distance, half the cell size should work but if the cell size varies in the x, y and z spacing then it will be more hit or miss. Mitch
