  2. If you don't want the fill turn it off. In this case for less busy curves you could turn on the Resample option using Weighted Average or Cubic Spline. This may be fairly slow if you have a lot of points. Another option would be to Truncate the logs for a certain interval or increase the Vertical Exaggeration to spread the data vertically.

  4. Hi Mitch, I did with what you advised, and I came out with the below result; The GR Curve only shows up at the bottom of the well log even without activating the G-value filters. The objective was to get the familiar pattern of the curve but having it fill from the top until the bottom of the well log. Could you assist me on this please? Thank you.

  6. You can turn off the fill in the 2D Log Design tab. Select the active P-Data column and go to Fill Options. You can also change the Scaling options and turn off G-Value Filters and Resampling if they're on. Aming the column wider may help as well.
  7. Firstly thank you molly for responding! I did based on a GR log. So based on the figure I posted, the striplogs tends showing towards a straights curve and not the wiggles as posted example below. Is there any settings that could be done to change the displayed logs to obtain some sort as the example posted below?

  9. Hi Amirul, The screenshot shows that you are displaying your logs in the stratigraphy picker, which is a program in RockWorks where you can interactively pick your stratigraphic tops and bases from data displayed in logs, for posting to the database. The screenshot also shows that your logs are set up to display curves representing data in the P-Data table. Can you explain what data you were hoping to display in the logs? Molly RockWare Inc.
  10. Hi, could I seek advice on the striplogs below? I have entered the data however when process the striplogs, it resulted in the below. Can anyone advice if this is because of the settings that I have input for the striplogs design? Really appreciate if anyone could advice on this.
  11. Hi Amirul, Without seeing your data, my first guess is that it is a dimensions issue. Did you hand-enter your project dimensions or scan your boreholes to establish them? Do the numbers look correct, along all axes, as displayed in the Dimensions pane at the top of the RockWorks program window? Another possibility is bad data for one/several boreholes - Have you tried displaying the stratigraphy logs in 3D (Striplogs | 3D | Multiple) to see if the logs look correct in 3D space? You are welcome to send us your data - use the Borehole Manager | File | Archive Database to Text and email the resulting ZIP file to support at rockware.com. Molly M RockWare
  12. Hi, I wanted to develop my statigraphy model and I have done all the location map and strip logs successfully however I could not develop the statigraphy model as shown below: I would really appreciate if someone could assist me on this
  13. A new version of RockWorks2020 was uploaded to the RockWare website today, with loads of new features, improvements, and bug fixes. New Features and Improvements The user can draw a rectangle in RockPlot2D, and the select it with a right click to update the project dimensions. (Rectangle Attributes, Location tab, Set Output Dimensions button) A Null replacement value has been added an option to the Grid Model --> Boolean and Solid Model --> Boolean programs. Users can now move the anchor point of Anchor Text in RockPlot2D. Users can load dimensions from an existing subsite (Subsite_Cmd). A quick way to add this command to the Playlist is from the Subsite Dialog (last item in the Subsite drop down list - "Edit Subsites"). From that dialog there is a "RCL" menu item , which has options to "Add to Playlist" and "Export to a RwCmd file". The RockPlot2D Manual Pattern Scaling can now be applied to all diagrams. Map, Section and Profiles are based on the Project Dimensions. Charts use the diagram dimensions. The Float Images in Google Earth now force a rotation so that the images are in the view. Added a vertical scroll bar to the Vertical and Horzontal Axis options for Profiles, Sections and Projected Sections so that all options can be seen and adjusted. Borehole Manager | Import Raster Logs, you can now select multiple files for import. The import is more forgiving when the tiff file is no longer in the original folder. A vertical divider bar (to be moved left/right) has been added to the 2D Log Design window, so that the visible items pane can be expanded. Added scroll bars to the Georeference dialog. LoadDimensions_Cmd and SaveDimensions_Cmd will work from Playlists and scripts. Example: PROJECT DIM_FILE Default_Project_Dimensions.rwDim Bug Fixes Stratigraphy and Lithology Fence diagrams now honor the position setting for Legends. All of the PLSS data input fields in the Borehole Manager trigger saving to the database when edited. Default filename extension for input solids changed to RwMod, was RwGrd. The "Create New Solid Model" option now uses the user specified name. Playlist Load and Save Datasheet behave more as expected. The Inclined Surface option for Solid and Grid(s) Filter is now created correctly. ModOps - Grid | Filters | Polygon Clip was freeing the polystream twice causing a Invalid Pointer. Grid filter tools were missing the color legend option When inserting a new borehole, the "Other Coordinate Projections" data is now posted with the rest of the entered borehole data. The project dimensions could get the number of nodes set to zero and saved when the values were edited such that the Minimum exceeded the Maximum. The check on the values is now being done before saving. When scanning boreholes from the Subsite dialog, the Subsite dialog is now being updated, not the Dimensions tab in RockWorks. Also the Dimensions tab is updated when Scan Boreholes is called from the Search Dialog. Hydrology and Borehole Operations - Aquifers: Hydrograph tools (Hydrograph, Hydrograph map and Hydrograph billbords) work. Graphics - Images | Geo-reference - 3D Display default was changed to Float instead of Drape. Graphics - 2D Tools | Export | ReportWorks: will now prompt to save on close. The Solid and Grid(s) Filter now uses the correct surface type instead of defaulting to grid surfaces. The Solid and Grid(s) Filter no longer causes an Access Violation when grid surfaces are selected. Google Earth programs that output disks, tubes, centered images and text were not calculating sizes correctly. Re-projecting just the Z values now works. RockPlot2D previews are now saved when the Rw2D files are saved whether the diagram is displayed or not. Fixed vertical divider bar in the Application Search dialog. A RW15 input grid model is converted only once when both a 2D map and 3D diagram output are requested via the Grid | Display program. 15. I think that this error is probably related to the initial conditions you've specified. I believe that the fugacity coefficient is calculated by TOUGHREACT based on Pressure and Temperature. So, our first suggestion would be that you experiment with other CO2 partial pressures. Perhaps you should try a very small value, rather than a value of 0 for the cells with low partial pressure?
  16. Thank you so much with your great helps
  17. When I tried to run my model, I got the error message: Time step = 0 Time (yr) = 0.000000E+00 There is a problem with fugacity coefficient I use eos2 to simulate the CO2 injection. I set a higher partial pressure 12 for CO2 at the left bottom coner. All other cell is zero. I can not run my model and I have no idea how to solve this porblem. I can not upload the sim file because it is 69KB. the max total szie only 30KB...
  18. XiaoMao

    Why

    Ok Thank you so much
  19. Yes, for a constant Temperature boundary, you could use a very large density for the boundary cell.
  20. Alison

    Why

I have been experimenting with your model and converted it to EOS3 so that I could add gas saturation to the model. I was able to see the pH in the cell change by doing the following: 1. Adding the gas phase to the model. For example, initialize the model with 0.2 SG, or even just the cell with the high gas zone. 2. Under TOUGHREACT | Solution parameters, make sure that NGAS1 is checked on.
  21. Can I use a large density , such as 1e50 kg/m3, as a constant boundary?
  22. XiaoMao

    Why

My question is Why low pH caused by carbon dioxide cannot move forward
  23. XiaoMao

    Why

I downloaded the example from https://www.thunderheadeng.com/petrasim/petrasim-4-documentation/ Example Problem 1, Linear sorption and decay (EOS9). I want to simulate that the low pH caused by CO2 dissolution transport in the domain. Therefore, I modified the example problem 1 I set two Gas zones in the model. CO2 partial pressure is zero in the first zone and it has been set all cells. and then CO2 partial pressure is 10 in the second zone, and it has been set at middle one cell. However, I got resutls like this, low pH only occurs in the cell which is set high partial pressure and it did not move with groundwater flow. Logically, low pH should migrate to the right. But it doesn't。 Is anyone can tell me the reason ? you can find the sim file in the attachment. Thank you so much. treact_prob_1.sim
  24. Hi Ian, Welcome to the forum! In the Striplogs | 2D Striplog Section program, the Striplogs | Stratigraphy Picker, and the Stratigraphy | Section | Linear Correlations program, you can request that the logs be placed using equal spacing rather than based on location. (Log Spacing tab) The Stratigraphy Picker is a nifty program which lets you display logs with any types of data, and interactively click to pick the formation tops and bases. Here's a link to the help topic: https://help.rockware.com/rockworks/WebHelp/strat_pick_contacts.htm Let us know if you have any questions about this. Molly
  25. I am very new to rockworks and trying to input boreholes with stratigraphic units that I am developing as I go. I would really like to plot multiple strip logs adjacent to each other rather than in their actual geographic locations. Is this possible?
  26. Hi Vincent, Thanks for letting us know that you found a solution. Regards, Tom B RockWare Inc
  27. Hi Tom Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, I am not in the position to use CutePDF. However, after messing around with the settings, I managed to create a PDF about which everyone was fairly happy. Kind regards Vincent V
  28. Atmospheric boundaries can be simulated by making the cells at the top of your model “fixed state” or by assigning them a very large volume factor. You would then want to assign appropriate initial conditions that would represent the atmosphere, and would also want to create a special material to assign to those cells. This can also be done using the “extra cell” tool in PetraSim. You would again assign a very large volume to the extra cell representing the atmosphere and create very short connections to the top layer of cells in the model. I would recommend that you take a look a that LBL TOUGH forum for some additional technical details about this. If you do a search in that forum for “Assigning atmospheric boundary conditions”, you should be able to access a PDF with additional instructions provided by Stefan Finsterle of Finsterle GeoConsulting. You can find information specifically discussing atmospheric boundaries starting around page 20. If you are not able to find this, please send me an email and I will direct to you to this document (alison @ rockware . com).
  29. Dear all colleagues, Please help me that anyone can show me the typical and approriate input parameters for Atmosphere simulation in Petrasim ? or any other ways to simulate it. ----- Thank you and appreciate so much.
