    Hi Craig, My tests show that I-Data Text label size is being reduced if I change from, say, 0.2 to 0.05 by a factor of 4, which should be correct. And they become downright microscopic at 0.005. In the 2D Log Design window, I-Data Text Options, be sure you are clicking on the Interval Labeling tab to adjust the label size, using the large Font button at the top of that pane. (The Font button in the other tab, Column Layout, defines the text size for the column title. Reducing this setting will not affect the labels.) Note that your section is 2,400 feet long but only 100 feet deep, which often benefits from adding some vertical exaggeration for readability. However since you are embedding the section location map in the section diagram itself, you can't do that without stretching the map, too. One option is to create the section location map as a separate window. If you continue to have problems with this, it would be helpful to have your project data and settings. Use the Borehole Manager File | Archive -> Text option and send the resulting zip file to support at rockware.com. Thanks Molly Mayfield RockWare Support

    My issue is reducing fonts of depths, itext #1 and #2 to better fit between sample lined intervals. In RW 20 I have modified the font to .00005 with no change to font. Small size 0.5 is too big. Does RW20 limit the font reduction? Would like to improve clarity in section. Thank you Section 2.Rw2D
  5. Hi Julia, its using Inverse Distance based on all the data in the Filter method and in the Sector Based it also uses Inverse Distance but based on 1 sample per sector. Mitch
  6. Hi, what is the interpolation method used when choosing 'Interpolate' for nodes that are ouside the area of available data in the Grid | Math | Resample command? It looks like closest point, is that so? Thanks, Julia

  9. Hi Craig, I moved this to the RockWorks forum, to make it easier to find. If you are asking about adding space below the lowest borehole in a 2D cross section diagram, you can do this by manually defining the desired elevation range for the diagram annotation. In RW17 this is under Perimeter Annotation Options | Elevation Range. In RW20 this is under Annotation | Elevation Range. If I misunderstood please reply with more details or a graphic example.   11. I find a need to increase the depth available under the RW programed cross sectional depth. For instance add 100" under the lowest BH drilled elevation. This allows projection indicated by the section. Any comments. Thank you

    Its not obvious but you can right click on the Edit-Text table and select "Edit Rows and Groups". You can then select an item and drag it within the current group. Save it as a data template so you don't have to do this for every new file.

  15. A new version of RockWorks2020 was uploaded to the RockWare website yesterday, with many new features, improvements, and bug fixes. New Features and Improvements RockWorks can now import 5 meter DEM's. Be aware that they create huge (>1.5M node) grids so plotting will be slow. The processing of 3D animations has been sped up by about 30%.. Changed the memory display colors for 0-25% to white text on a red background. Dates will now be saved in US format MM/DD/YEAR (i.e. 7/22/2020) for Ini, Play list and command script files. Shape file import will now read the Shape file's Projection and Coordinate Reference System (prg file). Date Format and Date Separator in the Datasheet work with 'Date' Type columns and programs that use dates. Bug Fixes Striplogs | 2D Striplog: Plot vertical with elevations for deviated holes now show correct elevations for the corresponding measured depth. Map Overlays - Prefix and Suffix prompts are wider, a consistent 100 pixels. Google Earth functions have been hidden on the Subsite dialog as they use the Project's values and not the Subsite's. Tweaked several 3D Log Design Designer Options to scroll better on a smaller screens. Draped images can now be displayed in RockPlot3D without error. The RockPlot3D export to DXF no longer has a limit on the number of entities. Declustering for Solid Models now more closely matches the user suggested spacing. When defining the labeling options for symbols, the Opaque Background setting is no longer dependent upon the Enclosing Background setting The Solid and Grids Filter now handles nulls in the grids. Double clicking on a file in the WIndow's File Explorer now opens the file even if RockWorks is already running. The Grids To Stratigraphic layers program now runs. Playlists that modify the Datasheet no longer cause a "Cannot Focus a Disabled Window" error.     Edit-text order

    Hi guys, Just wondering if there is a way to change the order of the edit-text entries within the log designer ? We typically export an excel template from logplot before each project and use this in the field however, when we do this the edit text entries typically fall into a random order (See below); Ideally, we would like to export the edit-text entries to excel in an order something like; Bore ID Log type Easting Northing Spatial reference.... etc We would like to do this without having to manually change a data editor before each template export, is there a way to change the order within the log-designer itself ?   18. Thank you for submitting this. I do believe that you are correct, and that we should be writing a value of 1 for the PERMX value for extra cells. I have reported this to our programming team and will let you know when a new build is available with a fix for this problem. In the meantime, I think your only work around is to modify the INP file before running the model.
  19. Dear Sir or Madam Hello, everyone. I'm a user of petrasim I used permeability modifier setting and extra grid setting simultaneously, The flow simulation showed no flow behavior. I realized the permeability modifier of the extra cell became 0 in the MESH File. (I used the extra cell for injection) I modified the permeability modifier manually and ran the simulation from the command line. It ran correctly. But, I would run the simulation on the petrasim if I can. Would it be possible to set the permeability modifier for the extra cells on the petrasim? petrasim version 2020.1.0108 x64 TOUGH REACT ver1.2 EOS1 model.sim
  20. Hi Jiawei Li, To make a contour map of percentage lithology at each XY location on the map, follow the RockWorks 2020 instructions below. Create a Lithology model from the borehole data. Open the Lithology Types table from the Lithology tab or the Project Manager | Project Tables. Choose File | Export to Datasheet. Close the Lithology Types table. In the Borehole Operations section, choose Lithology | Lithology/Stratigraphy By XY. Specify the Data Columns | G-Value as in the column labeled as G-Value. Click on the Input tab and specify the name of the Lithology model (.RwMod). Click on the Output Options tab and specify the RwDat (RockWorks) option. Click the CONTINUE (Ctrl-G) button to display the data. Save the data to a RwDat file. Close the Lithology/Stratigraphy By XY menu. Click the Datasheet tab. Open the Lithology Percent RwDat file listed above. Choose the ModOps Grid | Create | XYZ->Grid menu. Specify the XY columns, and set the Z column to the G-value of the lithology you wish to map. Specify the desired options on the 2D Grid Map tab. Click the CONTINUE (Ctrl-G) button to create the contour map. In RockPlot2D, choose File | Export | Raster to create an image for import to ArcMap. Shapefiles can also be exported. Repeat for the other lithology G-Values. Regards, Tom B RockWare Inc
  21. I do have a question that if Rockworks have an option that can generate a contour map shows the percentage of the lithology in the area based on well logs. Also is there an option that I could export plot2d as a raster to put it into the Arcmap? Thanks,
  22. Hi Amirul, The missing Stratigraphy layers may not show if they are very thin, or if using a Modeling Sequence that allows layers to truncate overlying layers where they intersect. In addition, check that the order of the Stratigraphy units remains the same in all boreholes, and that missing units are inserted with a zero-thickness in the Stratigraphy table. You are welcome to backup your project with the File | Backup Database menu and send the ZIP file to [email protected] and we will pursue your question further.   24. Hi, I have developed the block model as per rockware tutorial and the striplogs etc resulted as expected. However when I process the statigraphic model, the model does not resulted as the usual model. The shapes does not fill in the outline box and there are some of the layers could not be seen unless it is set to explode view. Can someone advice me on why does my statigraphic block model does not fill in the box as in the Figure 1. The objective of my task was to develop the model as per Figure 2. Thank you.   27. Hi Mike, Another way to create a grid on the top of multiple Lithology types is to export the Lithology to Excel, then import the Lithology to the Stratigraphy table. Delete the different bedrock lithology types in the Stratigraphy Types table and merge them into a single Stratigraphy unit, then create a grid with the Stratigraphy | Single Surface menu.
