RockPlot 3D logs quality for export (.dxf)

Recommended Posts

What would you like to do to improve the quality of logs exported to 3D DXF?

In case this post is related to an e-mail message sent to tech support, I'll recap my answer here.

Triangles are used to define the surfaces of the 3D logs when exported to DXF. The line thickness is apparently dependent on the program that is used to view the 3D DXF file, since the lines in AutoCAD appear thin, but the author reports that another program is showing the lines with a greater thickness.

The way the triangles are displayed is a function of the viewing program. In AutoCAD 2008, the View | Visual Styles menu offers the following choices: 2D Wireframe, 3D Wireframe, 3D Hidden (referring to hidden line removal), and two modes that fill the triangles with opaque fill: "Realistic", and "Conceptual".
