Could not convert variant of type (Null) into type (Double)

This error has been known to occur when drawing straight-line stratigraphy fence diagrams (Stratigraphy | Fence | Straight), when the stratigraphic units were picked and posted to the database using the Pick Contacts routine. This routine was not properly telling the program to automatically update the true XYZ coordinates for the stratigraphic intervals.

To prevent this error, simply choose the Calculate XYZ Values for All Boreholes from the Borehole Manager's Edit menu, before creating the fence diagram. (Note that you can view the XYZ coordinates for all of your downhole measurements via the View | Show XYZ Values option - this will display the columns that contain these computations for your Stratigraphy, I-Data, P-Data (etc.) tabs. These columns are usually hidden from display to distinguish user-entered data from program-computed data.)

In RockWorks16, this error has occurred when the Lithology Types table contains no Density values and you've requested the calculation of volumes. If you don't know what Density measurements to use, just set them to 1.0 and ignore any mass computations that are tagging along with the volumes.
