This error can sometimes occur if your computer turns off mid-log due to a power cutoff, and you then try to re-start LogPlot. Simply exit LogPlot, locate the program's folder (typically c:\program files\LogPlot 2003) and delete the file "LP2003.cn2" from that folder. This is a configuration file that will be rebuilt automatically the next time you start the program, and the error should not occur again. However, all of the program defaults will be returned to the factory settings, and you will need to be sure to re-establish the default LDF file name, compiling scale, keyword/pattern/symbol file names, etc.
