rudyabo 0
Hi RockWare Forum members and support team, after manual contraction of a 3D Stratigraphic model (Advanced Stratigraphic modeling), it is common to see cutting edges around the boundaries of each layer. What is the best way to smooth those edges and minimize the difference between layers? I usually use Grid Editing tool, but it is rather difficult and tedious in some complex cases particularly in higher resolution models. Any suggestions or protocol to follow solving such issue? all the best, Rudy
TomB 0
Hi Rudy, You may want to consider smoothing the grid files in your Stratigraphy model with the Utilities Grid | Filters | Smooth menu command. Regards, Tom B RockWare Inc
rudyabo 0
Hi Tom, I guess in this case I have to generate each surface again (Grid --> Math), since the residual between each two contacts will be larger. Regards, Rudy A
TomB 0
Hi Rudy, To eliminate residuals between surfaces, make a copy of the grid file representing the top of the surface and rename it as the base as the next overlying surface. For example for surfaces "A" and "B" with "A" on top, smooth the top of surface "B" and name it B_Top.RwGrd. Copy this file to A_Base.RwGrd to use it as the base of "A".
