Grid Map IO error 32

I am creating grid map from XYZ entered by text file, will not process, and has above error message. Text is ~375,000 lines, file is 12,000 kb,

Is file size the issue?

Size isn't the problem, the file is open exclusively by another program. If that isn't the case sometimes a program will forget to release a file. In this case you will need to restart Windows to release the file.
