Aerial Imagery from Google Earth

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to drape Google Earth Imagery on top of topographical surface layer in 3D model? I am currently using a USGS topoquad that's been converted to .tiff file, but the imagery is out-of-date and the imagery from Google Earth is more up-to-date. If possible, I'd like to use the more up-to-date imagery.

Hi JoshM,

You can use the Utilities | Imagery menu to bring raster images into your RockWorks project. The Rectify option will let you geo-reference an image, clip to project dimensions, display in 2D, and float or drape in 3D.

(Other Imagery options include digitizing, displaying vertical panels, animations, etc.)
