energystaff Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Hi recently i tried many times to extract elevation from google earth but it seems it's out of the question. so i'm hesitated that whether i did missed something to do,or maybe again I gotta use other options to extract elevation. thanks s lot.
Brianna Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, Google Earth doesn't return an elevation value so it defaults to zero. You're not doing anything wrong, it's a limitation of Google Earth.
Brianna Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 On a side note, you can now extract elevations through the RockWare free online converter app: www.rockware.com/freesoftware Click on the "build-your-own" menu item then check the box on the left that says "Enable Manual Data Collection". You'll get latitude, longitude and elevation. The elevation has varying precision depending on the google database for that area.
