Craig SS
How can I make an easy rock plot 2D cross section from simple distance vs. elevation data? X = distance from origin start y = elevation Attached data is near Serra Peak CA.
Mitch
Sorry but your attached data didn't make it so it's not very clear what you're trying to do. If you can't attach the data consider sending it to support or give us a description of what the data contains. xy coordinaates? elevations, stratigraphic tops or ...? what format? Craig SS
Hi Tom, Nice lead. SG plots a nice profile; now I would like to scale 1:1 in feet (data attached). My goal is to plot topo profile to scale, or VE = 2.0, than illustrate geology
Craig SS
Hi Tom Yes played with the VE, will try your grid idea next. Goal is a simple to scale topographic cross section, which will be very useful to vision the cross sectional geology. Thanks! Data below is distance in feet from start of profile and corresponding elevation in feet. 0.0 2073.1 457.3 2135.2 914.7 2172.0 1372.0 2207.1 1829.4 2251.9 2286.7 2288.0 2744.1 2376.2 3201.4 2482.3 3658.8 2542.6 4116.1 2542.4 4573.5 2498.2 5030.8 2540.1 5488.2 2655.7 5945.6 2705.1 6402.9 2602.5 6860.3 2499.9 7317.7 2496.2 7775.0 2586.0 8232.4 2747.6 8689.8 2773.4 9147.2 2772.5 9604.6 2916.6 10061.9 3157.6 10519.3 3402.9 10976.7 3485.2 11434.1 3416.4 11891.5 3334.7 12348.9 3195.0 12806.3 3068.0 13263.7 3034.3 13721.1 3031.8 14178.5 3066.7 14635.9 3219.5 15093.3 3383.6 15550.7 3508.5 16008.1 3594.5 16465.6 3752.8 16923.0 3882.3 17380.4 3861.2 17837.8 3738.2 18295.2 3559.1 18752.7 3448.3 19210.1 3353.7 19667.5 3259.9 20125.0 3114.5 20582.4 3072.9 21039.8 3154.3 21497.3 3233.1 21954.7 3192.7 22412.2 3070.
Craig SS
Hi Tom, The profile data is developed through ESRI in ArcMap 3D analyst, interpolate line and than profile graph. I can export to excel and obtain distance from origin and elevation data. Pretty cool data. Now I would like to plot the data in profile and vary the elevation extents to vision subsurface geology. Thought I was onto a simple technique ...................but simple cross sections with variable scaling solutions are not apparent yet in ESRI or Rockworks. Gridding will not work unless I have xyz and I only need line data at this point. Appreciate the help, thought this would be easier. Let me know your suggestions; after looking at data sent to support by e-mail. Thanks
