Edit text box

Hi Christian,

The Edit-Text fields in a LogPlot header or footer will extend to accommodate the text that you enter in the data file. For example, if the Edit Text item links to a well name in the data file, a name of "BH-2" will extend just a short ways in the compiled log, while a well name of "Jefferson County Well 123456789" will obviously occupy much more space - something to keep in mind as you design your log layout.

I often use the Default Text field in the Edit Text setup as a way to create a placeholder for a typical entry, be it a date or a name or whatever, so that I know how much space it will occupy in the output log.

Does this answer your question? Let me know if you need add'l details.

Hi Christian,

The Edit Texts work really well for short blocks of text - Dates, driller names, elevations, and such. The Edit Notes work great for text which might be lengthy - comments, site descriptions, etc., because it offers the flexibility of wrapping the text within the available space.
