'JPEG error 36" message

Answer: According to the JPEG documentation Error 36 occurs when "The hard drive is out of space". Since this is rarely the case and always occurs with very large files, I suspect that this error can occur when you have run out of resources (memory). This occurs primarily with Windows 95-98/ME. If you are attempting to write this JPEG to a file, you need to be aware that it initially needs more space then when it is finished. You can try saving the JPEG to your hard disk first.
