Error associate with "Tab Column"

Recommended Posts

After I import boring and GPS data from an XLS spreadsheet, I try to create a boring log plot. After hitting the "process" button, I get a "bug" message. Digging into the bug message, it tells me that "the requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open." The file path precedig this error message ends with "TabColumn". I get the same message when I try and click on the Tab Column heading in the Lithology input section.

Any help with this issue will be much appreciated.

Hi John,

I have seen this error when the AVG anti-virus program is installed under 64-bit versions of Windows 7. You can test this by disconnecting from the network and Internet and disabling AVG.

The bug report that you sent to our tech e-mail confirms that you have AVG running.

Thanks,

Here are some forum topics that discuss how to remove the folder from AVG scanning, and a report of another cause for the problem.

Thanks,

You may also be able to configure AVG to exclude folders from scanning. The original link that we had is no longer active, but you can find the instructions on the AVG web site by searching for "Excluding folder". The current link states the following:

Here is the current link to the AVG FAQ that has the above information.
