Save cross-section traces?

Recommended Posts

I am working with RW-14 revision 2009.3.23, and I am creating some fairly extensive multi-strip log sections. I would like to know if it is possible to save the settings for each section including the trace that connects each log? There is always a lot of fine tuning that seems to be necessary once I have created the trace in order to make the plot readable/ presentable. It would be nice to save each trace so I'm not wasting time connecting the dots each time.

Thanks,

Hi JosephECM,

RockWorks14 has a way to save the menu settings to a RockWorks RCL file with the File | Save menu command in the Hole-to-Hole Log Section Options. Use the File | Load menu to read the settings back into the program.

RockWorks14 has the ability to Create Separate Location Map when you create a Hole-to-Hole section, and you can click on the polyline representing the trace of the cross-section and save it to a Polyline Table. RockWorks15 records the vertices of the cross-section when you click on the interactive section selection map and has the ability to export them to a table or ASCII file.

RockWorks14 does not have a way to save the Striplog Settings, but this feature has been added to RockWorks15.

Mitch, do I create an XY table of all the borings I'd like to include in the cross section? Previously the program would save the trace I was working on at the time, now I have to re-draw every time, which is unnecessarily time consuming. I would like to figure out how to load this XY table for each one my cross sections now.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, create a list of the XY coordinates for the borings you want included and save them with unique names.

The program should always remember the last section used.

Thanks Mitch, I found out that I had the endpoint selection set to "list" instead of "interactive" so it wasn't saving my previous traces. Now it's back to normal. Thanks for your help.
