New versions of LogPlot8 (32-bit and 64-bit) were uploaded to the RockWare website today with the following changes. New Features: The Fracture column can now be set to use dip-from-vertical measurements. An option has been added for plotting a border around each Vertical Text interval. Improvements: A error message will now be displayed if the Vertical Text Top Depths are lower than the Base Depths or intervals with heights of zero. This will avoid errors within the display. Bug Fixes: PDF and other exports broken in the 2017.8.17 build (which was removed from our site) no longer produce an error. Lithology descriptions are no longer duplicated when Offset Description are enabled and the data contains many small intervals with long descriptions. The Save As option within the Log Designer no longer includes an invalid option for the saving to a LogPlot7 format. Vertical Text data is now saved in the editor if the Text value is empty. Vertical Text is now plotted if the Text Value is empty. The Vertical Text frame column now plots consistently. The Excel Template export no longer includes the data. For a complete list of the recent changes, please visit: https://www.rockware.com/rockworks/revisions/current_logplot_revisions.htm To download this build, use the Help | Check for Updates menu inside LogPlot8. Or visit the LogPlot demo page (https://www.rockware.com/product/productDemo.php?id=176) where you can download the installation program and install the new build right over the top of the existing program. New versions of LogPlot8 (32-bit and 64-bit) were uploaded to the RockWare website yesterday with the following changes: Improvements: + The program will now “trap” and disable project folder monitoring (DirMon) if the user does not have sufficient rights. + In order to facilitate administrators who are having problems when overriding the data folder, LogPlot will now use the HKCU entry for UsrData – if it exists. Otherwise, LogPlot will read HKLM and look for an tntry like the user Document’s folder and replace whatever is there with the current user. For instance, if the key in HKLM is C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\LogPlot8 Data it will parse it and change it to, for C:\Users\Jim Jackson\Documents\LogPlot8 Data and then save it to HKCU for next time. Note: With Lp8SetNetworkPath an administrator can also set the value to: %UserProfile%\Documents\LogPlot8 Data\ for their users. Bug Fixes: + I-Text is now vertically centered. + I-Text no longer sporadically overplots adjacent entries when automatic offsets are enabled. + Scalebars with a conversion factor no longer draw tick-marks and labels in the wrong direction. + Scalebars with both meters and feet with a stickup above the ground use 0 depth as the origin, not the top of the scalebar. + Text font sizes are no longer being reduced when plotted at high resolutions to avoid long lines from stretching. Now, only the Edit and Static Text font sizes are reduced. + In the LogDesigner, Undoing the deletion of a Header Picture didn't restore the graphic. + In the LogDesigner the location rectangles that were displayed when moving an item were offset when either the vertical or horizontal scroll bars were scrolled. New versions of LogPlot8 (32-bit and 64-bit) were uploaded to the RockWare website today with the following bug fix: + Bar Graph Value labels set to Variable colors will plot labels whose values are outside the min-max range in the color defined as default in the settings window. For example, if the min-max range is set to 1 - 250, then a label for "500" will plot in the default text color. To download this build, use the Help | Check for Updates menu inside LogPlot8. A LogPlot7 user in Europe started encountering problems after a LogPlot update which also coincided with a Windows update. Each time he tried to access the Compile window in LogPlot, he was the message "Unable to create or display the Depth dialog." We discovered that the Compile window depths and scale, and the log design's Page Setup settings were displaying very, very large numbers, thus mucking up all hopes of meaningful pagination and scaling in LogPlot. Importantly - the Page Setup window showed mixed number formats: the printer settings at the top of the window showed numbers like "123.456.789,00" but LogPlot's page settings at the bottom of the same window (and his Windows 7 system) were using "123'456'789.00" (default for the German / Switzerland setting on his computer). The solution: Access the Control Panel | Clock Language and Region | Region and Language window. Click the Additional Settings button to access the number format options. Click the Reset button at the bottom of the window, to reset all of the number settings back to those which are default for the language-region setting. When LogPlot was re-launched, the Page Setup window showed sensible page dimensions, with the correct number format, and the compiling again worked. Molly Mayfield RockWare Inc.
