    Win 7 64 bit. LogPlot Constantly get message "Unable to load [HEADER_EDIT_TEXT]". Doesn´t matter if it is a text or rectangle etc. Thus cannot copy Header 1 setup into Header 2, for example.

    I am just thinking as I go here. We can filter/limit surface grids in RockWorks with other grids (Utilities>Grid>Filters>Limit ...). No problem. Stratigraphic (non block) models consist of many surface grids (top and bottom of each unit). So, shouldn´t it be possible to limit a stratigraphic model to, for example, fault grids? Then make another stratigraphic model on the other side of the fault (limiting it the other way round). I know this can be done using block models, be it a lithological or stratigraphic block model. I have just once ventured into these realms, but when I did I had a different RockWorks project for each part of the block model. That way you aren´t writing over all the different stratigraphic grids over and over if you are experimenting. Then I just united the two models in RockPlot/3D (append). I hope some of this makes sense and I bet Jim has a cooler solution.
  5. Where you know/imagine how deep the lithological/stratigraphic units go you can just make a "virtual" borehole. For me it basically comes down to this: - How large is the area? - Is it very complex? - Are there many faults?
  6. exporting borehole data to arcmap

    ArcMap can convert on the fly. You have to right click the layer (shpfile)>Properties and define the coordinate system it is in (WGS84 UTM for example). I assume you have already defined the coordinate system for the whole project... (right click "Layers" > Properties > Coordinate System).
  7. Multiple Polygons Google Earth

    I would like to draw multiple concession polygons in Google Earth using RockWorks utilities. But I just cannot figure out how "KML > Polygon Maps: > Multiple Polygons ..." works. Especially as it doesn´t take any coordinate parameters. Do you have some sample file for me, with all the colors and opacities etc set? Thanks in advance, Olafsson PS I can draw single polygons, no problem, but I need a different atd file for each concession. That´s just a waste of time and space...
  8. Hi! I would like to make a video similar to the one below (Air Temperatures by Elevation RW video). I assume I need to export individual images, choosing different layers each time. Can I make an RCL script, choosing the exact layers and exporting them to the appropriate PNG files? Thanks in advance!

    Hello. I would like to display the 2D striplogs of multiple bores (all or enabled bores) side by side to compare them. Making a cross section isn´t enough as I get a lot of space between each bore. Is this possible?

  11. Make Worldfile in RockWorks

    I´m wondering if it is possible to make worldfiles in RockWorks? I often use Imagery > Digitize (Extract Coordinates From Image) ... where I georeference a jpeg image. It would be great to have an option in that program to export to jgw worldfile to use in other programs or later use in RockWorks. Best regards, Olafsson
  12. Unable to compute polynomial

    Thanks! I can´t believe it... I was trying to draw the X column as a Y. Triangulation managed to do it but polynomial didn´t. I also got rid of points 7, 8 and 10 and am now able to make a 3rd order polynomial, as I wanted. As the grid surface stretches very high and very low; what is the best method of constraining it? I want to constrain the grid to min:-300 m and max:1300 m. I made flat grids at these heights (Flat_-300.grd and Flat_1300.grd). In "Grid > Filter > Limit" I am able to constrain the "Fault.grd" using the "Flat_-300.grd" with "Fault_limit-300.grd" as an output. Now the problem: If I then try to limit the "Fault_limit-300.grd" with "Flat_1300.grd" the program crashes. Limiting only the "Fault.grd" with "Flat_1300.grd" works fine, but limiting that output file with "Flat_-300.grd" results in a crash as well.

    I´m trying to make a polynomial out of these points, as I´m trying to determine a fault location. 704218 3557171 1280 704352 3558789 1280 704121 3558511 833 703177 3556948 -220 703468 3558091 -220 703876 3559019 -220 703635 3558692 280 707047 3559531 280 703372 3556628 280 703322 3557034 480 But I always get this error: "Error: UNABLE TO COMPUTE POLYNOMIAL Unable to compute this particular polynomial and therefore unable to complete initial trend-surface analysis. Possibilities; (1) Duplicate point - make sure the "declustering" option is activated. (2) Overfit of data - sorry, this data set can´t be used with trend-surface. (2) Coefficient = 0 - sorry this data set can´t be used with trend surface." What is wrong here? Thanks, Olafsson

  15. Rock Quality Designation (RQD)

    Hi, I have a few boreholes where rock quality designation (RQD) of the core has been done. The data looks like this: % of core unfractured for 10cm/30cm/50cm/100cm/150cm/200cm So what I have is a lithological section of a borehole where a RQD of 68/58/42/26/0/0 (for example) is defined. I would like to make a 3d lithology model/stratigraphy model and be able to filter it using the RQD. What is the best way to do this? Thanks, Olafsson
