  1. Hi I am trying to set Axis Label decimal places to 0 (zero) in my Solid Model Reference Cage Options using the "manual" radio button but the window will not allow me to do this. When I enter "0" in the box and then click away it automatically resets the number back to "1" decimal place. This occurs whether my dimensions are set to Project, Automatic, or Manual. How do set a "0" for axis label decimal places on my 3D Solid Model Reference Cage Options? thanks, Lara
  2. Hi I am trying to render a 3D solid model with some design elements similar to the very nicely done graphic you have created here: http://www.rockware.com/assets/products/165/features/365/1091/rockworks_moresolidmodel1b.jpg The first element I'd like to incorporate is turning off the perimeter cage outline in the front panels so as not to block any of the plume, but I cannot seem to do this. Even with the entire Perimeter Cage tuned off, I am still getting some sort of a cage outline that won't go away (see attached screen shot). I thought it might be just related to internal RockPlot display, but it also shows up in exported .jpgs. How do I turn this element off so that I can begin selecting only the back perimeter cage panels to display like you have done in your example? I am running RockWorks 15 2012.11.28 on a Windows 7 machine. thanks, Lara
  3. When .key files are exported/imported, are assigned g-values saved with associated keyword records? I recently imported a .key file and while the keywords and associated patterns seemed to come in fine, the g-values seemed to have been reassigned. I've migrated machines and found that my custom lithology types table (saved as a .key and .pat) I had been using for all my projects did not make it over, so I am trying to figure out how to get my old custom lithology scheme applied again to all the projects already generated with them. thanks!
  4. Thanks for this super-speedy reply! What gridding options and methods should I select here to create the same surface grid that RW15 automatically created and applied to all the solid models I've generated with the automatic upper surface constraint option activated? Lara
  5. Is there a way for me to access as a grid the upper surface that RockWorks 15 generates for my solid model when the Automatic (based on borehole collar elevations) Upper Surface constraint option is used? I would like to be able to perform grid math on the automatically generated upper surface to create a lower surface grid that represents a uniform 5 depth below the upper surface across the entire site. thanks Lara
  6. Thanks Molly for explaining the custom Color Index - this works. I'd like to add to the next-release wish-list the request that the automatically generated default index for palette color fill tables be accurately labeled so that users do not need to go through the above tasks. thanks Lara
  7. When using the Palette button to create a color fill table, the minimum of a class is set equal to the maximum of the class that precedes it. How are nodes that equal these breakpoint values classified? Do they end up in the first class or second class? Is there a way to adjust text on associated legends using a > or < symbol to correctly indicate to which class the breakpoint values belong? for example when this is entered in a color fill table min max class A 10 20 Class B 20 30 Does this mean Class A 10-20 Class B >20 - 30 or Class A 10 - <20 Class B 20 - <30 thanks, Lara
  8. I've been importing p-text data from an Excel 2007 Spreadsheet into RW 15 v 2011.6.15 (on a Windows Vista machine) and am finding that unless I pre-sort the spreadsheet records by Borehole, RW does not import all records. For example, if the spreadsheet has three data records for BH-1 at three different depths but they are separated by other borehole records, only one (seems to be the last) BH-1 p-text data point is imported. Is this expected behavior for P-Text data import? thanks Lara
  9. Thanks, Mitch. Is there a way to set this as an option prior to generating the profile so it doesn't have to be manually changed afterwards? Lara
  10. Is there a way in RW15 to generate profiles showing distance (ie, 0 to total length) on the horizontal axis rather than actual coordinates? thanks Lara
  11. Thanks - that's what I was looking for! Lara
  12. I would like to visualize a series of separate p-data cross sections from the same site using the same color scheme - a min to max 2-color continuous ramp. How do I set/save/export the min and max values for such color ramps so that I can apply the exact same color scheme to all the cross sections (determined by the site wide min/max values) rather than have each cross section represented by slightly differing ramps driven by the various min/max values associated with each particular cross section? thanks Lara
  13. Thanks - this works. It's a bit tedious since I have 23 panels in a fence diagram that I need to generate for four different parameters with custom color schemes. Hope this becomes a pre-set option in RW16... Lara
  14. I created and saved a custom color scheme for p-data cross sections in RW15 that I would like to use in my p-data fence panels as well. I poked around and can't seem to find a table file associated with this scheme anywhere (RW program files, My documents RW files, or the RW project folder). How do I export or access my custom color scheme table created for cross sections so that I can apply it to fence panels? And is it possible to pre-set this custom color scheme before creating my fence diagram so that I do not have to manually adjust each panel after it is generated? thanks Lara
  15. Thank you Molly, this is what I was looking for. However, in Perimeter Annoation Options, I don't see settings for scalebar label orientation (ie, perpendicular or parallel) or scalebar decimal places shown. Is there a way to preset those? Also, once I tune these settings, are they saved with the project or do I need to save them separately to have them available next time I reopen the project? Thanks!
  16. I would like to be able to change the default settings used for several of the cross section scalebar attributes (number of decimal places, label orientation, tick size, value intervals) that are automatically generated when a cross section is created in RW15 so that I do not have to manually edit every scale bar for every cross section I create. Is there a way to do this before the cross sections are created or alternatively to batch process them after creation? Would this require the use of RCL script and if so can you please point me to any script libraries focusing on scalebar attributes that I could use to get started? thank you.
  17. Hi Mitch I've tried several times and keep getting the same error. I just emailed you the requested project archive. Thanks for looking at this. Lara
  18. I am attempting to generate fence diagrams for the first time in RW15 using an existing lithology model that I have saved and successfully used to create cross sections. After selecting fence panels and hitting "process," I get "an error occurred in the application" crash. I've attached a bug report. Could you please help me figure out what I need to do to get fence diagrams to generate? thank you...
  19. After importing a lithology table from a .key file, it seems you still need to manually go into the pattern editor, hit the "file" button, and select the associated .pat file from which the table will then read the intended fill patterns. When I did this, I was able to get the USCS soils key to look like the ones in the .pdf document. Lara
  20. Is there a way to clear all records in the lithology types table in one step? Or to import lithology types from a .key file with replacing instead of appending the existing table? As I am trying out different lithology patterns from your download area it would be helpful to be able to start from scratch when importing each new pattern set instead of having them append onto each other. thanks Lara
  21. Thanks Tom - that is a useful resource. In the RockWorks 15 pattern editor, I've been trying to create the filled grain or filled polygon pattern commonly observed on USCS soil symbologies. I've been unsuccessful so far because I can't seem to create features other than lines or dots. How do I create a pattern that includes filled polygons? thanks Lara
  22. Are there any pre-populated lithology tables, templates, or libraries for RockWorks 15 based on the USCS available for download? thanks from a newbie, Lara
  23. Thanks Alison - that's just the direction I needed.
