  11. Hi Drew, I cannot recreate this problem with either the Feb 2016 build or the current revision of RockWorks17. You are welcome to send us your data and settings by selecting the Borehole Manager's File | Archive Database to Text to create a ZIP file. Please also drag your Rw2D map into the ZIP and email it to support at rockware.com. Happy holidays to you as well! Molly Mayfield RockWare Inc

  15. Isosurfaces function like contour "skins". By nature of the fact that you've set the minimum contour level to "1", the diagram is showing you all voxels with values 1 and greater, enclosed with the "1" value skin, which is set to red. If you insert a cutout into the isosurface (Edit | Add Cutout) then you can see inside the skin to the other colors (values) inside. Instead, try using the other visualization method for solid models - Voxels. This type of display color-codes the visible voxels based on their value. The null voxels should still be hidden, and you can use the Voxel display options to filter low and/or high values from the display. You might refer to these help topics: Voxel displays: http://help.rockware.com/rockworks17/WebHelp/rp3d_data_sol_color.htm Isosurface displays: http://help.rockware.com/rockworks17/WebHelp/rp3d_data_iso_color.htm Hope this helps! 17. A new version of LogPlot8 was uploaded to the RockWare website on Monday, with the following improvements and bug fixes: + Exports from LogView (PNG, PDF, JPG, etc.) no longer sporadically cut off Point Text near the base of the page. + Memory leaks no longer occur and cause errors when exporting to a PDF file. + Fixed an access violation when saving compiled logs with a Lithology Profile. + Lithology descriptions with intervals that are plotted on three or more pages no longer sporadically plot within the header. + The batch PDF processing now works correctly. + The Batch Editor now "remembers" the last PDF output DPI that was selected. + Compiled logs are now correctly loaded from the command line + The margin between the header/footer and the log body is now correctly sized when set to centimeters. + The LogView drawing is now "double-buffered" which eliminates flickering and artifacts that are left behind when rapidly scrolling. 19. Thanks for letting us know. M
  20. The VE of the entire 3D scene is applied using the Dimensions window, or the simpler "Stretch" button, both available at the top of the RockPlot3D window. In RW15 the stretch was not actually stored in the RW3D file, so you'll need to apply it again the next time you open the file for viewing. When you append another file to an existing scene, I think the stretch returns to "1" so you'll need to apply the VE again in that circumstance, as well. Molly
  21. Hi kkelso22, With an aspect ratio of 21,000 map units versus 11.5 vertical units, you will need to apply a LOT of stretch vertically to see much... at 1:1 you will have a pancake. It looks like you are filtering the lithology model with both an upper and lower surface. Things to be aware of: + The vertical (Z) spacing of the nodes in your solid model will have a large effect on how fine the filtered surfaces look - see if setting the Z-Spacing in your Project Dimensions to 0.1 gives better results. + The horizontal (X,Y) spacing of the nodes in the solid model and the filtering grids will also affect the appearance of the filtered blocks. Your spacing of 1,000 X and Y is pretty coarse - do you get better results with X and Y smaller spacing values (closer nodes)? + Are you using Automatic surfaces or Manual to clip the model? If the latter you'll need to regenerate the clipping surfaces if you change the XY density of the lith model. + RW15 offers a "buffer" when clipping the lithology model, defined in vertical voxel spacing. A buffer setting of "0" filters the solid model as closely as possible to the grid surface. Depending on the vertical resolution of the MOD file, this can sometimes allow voxels to poke through the filtering surface. A setting of "1" will add a distance equivalent to one vertical node below the filtering surface. In your example, perhaps the buffer is too big? Molly Mayfield RockWare Inc
  22. A new version of LogPlot8 was uploaded to the RockWare website today, with the following improvements and bug fixes: + A new option has been added for including trailing zeroes (e.g. 10.00000 versus 10) within the Lithology Description interval and thickness values. + A new option has been added for specifying a range of pages when exporting from LogView to PDF + Pattern background fills are no longer "painted" if the background color is white to allow for transparency (overlays). + Unrecognized pages within multi-sheet Excel Imports offer the option to Skip or Abort. + Downloadable Help has been added to the Settings menu. + Datasheet row heights are modified dynamically to better show formatted text with super/subscript text. + Line thicknesses within compiled logs are now consistent with the exported and printed diagrams. + The Scalebar dialog within the LogDesigner was now shows the correct coordinates when set to centimeters. + Eastings and Northings are now saved within Compiled Logs, Exports and Printing when Static Text macros are used. + Descriptions now plot correctly when they overlap the top or bottom of a page break. + The single depth symbol is now sized correctly. + The Compile All Logs program now uses the correct starting and ending depths. + much more To download this build, use the Help | Check for Updates menu inside LogPlot8. Or visit the demo download page: https://www.rockware.com/product/productDemo.php?id=176 Note that you will not be able to use this new build of the program if your maintenance has expired. 24. Hi Joscha, Thanks for sending your data. The node spacing at 50m along the X and Y axes should work well. This is because the closest boreholes (and they are very closely spaced along the lines) are 130 m apart so 50m nodes is more than adequate density. (I created a Map | Borehole Location Map, showing the locations with symbols, and used the RockPlot2D Measure | Distance tool to measure the hole-to-hole distances.) The node spacing along the Z (elevation) axis will only apply to SOLID models. You could leave those a 2. Denser models are not always better - be sure to look at the hole spacing for XY and the data spacing for Z to gauge how fine/coarse your nodes should be. Molly
