  1. Hi Amirul, The screenshot shows that you are displaying your logs in the stratigraphy picker, which is a program in RockWorks where you can interactively pick your stratigraphic tops and bases from data displayed in logs, for posting to the database. The screenshot also shows that your logs are set up to display curves representing data in the P-Data table. Can you explain what data you were hoping to display in the logs? Molly RockWare Inc.
  2. Hi Amirul, Without seeing your data, my first guess is that it is a dimensions issue. Did you hand-enter your project dimensions or scan your boreholes to establish them? Do the numbers look correct, along all axes, as displayed in the Dimensions pane at the top of the RockWorks program window? Another possibility is bad data for one/several boreholes - Have you tried displaying the stratigraphy logs in 3D (Striplogs | 3D | Multiple) to see if the logs look correct in 3D space? You are welcome to send us your data - use the Borehole Manager | File | Archive Database to Text and email the resulting ZIP file to support at rockware.com. Molly M RockWare
  3. A new version of RockWorks2020 was uploaded to the RockWare website today, with loads of new features, improvements, and bug fixes. New Features and Improvements The user can draw a rectangle in RockPlot2D, and the select it with a right click to update the project dimensions. (Rectangle Attributes, Location tab, Set Output Dimensions button) A Null replacement value has been added an option to the Grid Model --> Boolean and Solid Model --> Boolean programs. Users can now move the anchor point of Anchor Text in RockPlot2D. Users can load dimensions from an existing subsite (Subsite_Cmd). A quick way to add this command to the Playlist is from the Subsite Dialog (last item in the Subsite drop down list - "Edit Subsites"). From that dialog there is a "RCL" menu item , which has options to "Add to Playlist" and "Export to a RwCmd file". The RockPlot2D Manual Pattern Scaling can now be applied to all diagrams. Map, Section and Profiles are based on the Project Dimensions. Charts use the diagram dimensions. The Float Images in Google Earth now force a rotation so that the images are in the view. Added a vertical scroll bar to the Vertical and Horzontal Axis options for Profiles, Sections and Projected Sections so that all options can be seen and adjusted. Borehole Manager | Import Raster Logs, you can now select multiple files for import. The import is more forgiving when the tiff file is no longer in the original folder. A vertical divider bar (to be moved left/right) has been added to the 2D Log Design window, so that the visible items pane can be expanded. Added scroll bars to the Georeference dialog. LoadDimensions_Cmd and SaveDimensions_Cmd will work from Playlists and scripts. Example: PROJECT DIM_FILE Default_Project_Dimensions.rwDim Bug Fixes Stratigraphy and Lithology Fence diagrams now honor the position setting for Legends. All of the PLSS data input fields in the Borehole Manager trigger saving to the database when edited. Default filename extension for input solids changed to RwMod, was RwGrd. The "Create New Solid Model" option now uses the user specified name. Playlist Load and Save Datasheet behave more as expected. The Inclined Surface option for Solid and Grid(s) Filter is now created correctly. ModOps - Grid | Filters | Polygon Clip was freeing the polystream twice causing a Invalid Pointer. Grid filter tools were missing the color legend option When inserting a new borehole, the "Other Coordinate Projections" data is now posted with the rest of the entered borehole data. The project dimensions could get the number of nodes set to zero and saved when the values were edited such that the Minimum exceeded the Maximum. The check on the values is now being done before saving. When scanning boreholes from the Subsite dialog, the Subsite dialog is now being updated, not the Dimensions tab in RockWorks. Also the Dimensions tab is updated when Scan Boreholes is called from the Search Dialog. Hydrology and Borehole Operations - Aquifers: Hydrograph tools (Hydrograph, Hydrograph map and Hydrograph billbords) work. Graphics - Images | Geo-reference - 3D Display default was changed to Float instead of Drape. Graphics - 2D Tools | Export | ReportWorks: will now prompt to save on close. The Solid and Grid(s) Filter now uses the correct surface type instead of defaulting to grid surfaces. The Solid and Grid(s) Filter no longer causes an Access Violation when grid surfaces are selected. Google Earth programs that output disks, tubes, centered images and text were not calculating sizes correctly. Re-projecting just the Z values now works. RockPlot2D previews are now saved when the Rw2D files are saved whether the diagram is displayed or not. Fixed vertical divider bar in the Application Search dialog. A RW15 input grid model is converted only once when both a 2D map and 3D diagram output are requested via the Grid | Display program. We recommend that Network license users install the RockWare Network License Administrator v. 1.15. Contact support at rockware.com for a link to the the latest version. 5. Hi Ian, Welcome to the forum! In the Striplogs | 2D Striplog Section program, the Striplogs | Stratigraphy Picker, and the Stratigraphy | Section | Linear Correlations program, you can request that the logs be placed using equal spacing rather than based on location. (Log Spacing tab) The Stratigraphy Picker is a nifty program which lets you display logs with any types of data, and interactively click to pick the formation tops and bases. Here's a link to the help topic: https://help.rockware.com/rockworks/WebHelp/strat_pick_contacts.htm Let us know if you have any questions about this. Molly
  6. A new version of RockWorks2020 was uploaded to the RockWare website yesterday, with a lot of changes: New Features The Output Options / Export sub-menu now includes an option for exporting the output directly to PDF. The Opacity of Colored Intervals within 2D output may now be adjusted such that features below the contour map (e.g. airphotos) may be identified. The Striplogs page within the Graphics / Animate / Solid -> 3D Animation and Solid -> 3D IsoShell Animation program menus now includes an option titled "T-Data Only". If selected, striplogs within the animations will be filtered such that only the logs with T-Data that was sampled during the model date interval will be shown. A new program titled "Depth to Target" has been added to the ModOps / Solid / Solid -> Grid sub-menu in RockWorks2020. Given a ground surface grid model and a solid model, this program will create and display a grid that represents the depth to either the largest solid node value or the depth to the shallowest node within a specified range. An option titled "Constrain" has been added to the Solid Options sub-menu. This new tool will use the specified boolean model (the "constraining model") to determine which nodes will be interpolated during the subsequent modeling process. Specifically, nodes will not be interpolated for voxels in which the corresponding node within the constraining boolean model has a value of zero (false). Constraining models are useful for limiting geochemical models to regions defined by other parameters such as permeability. Improvements All programs that read data from the Datasheet will now skip any data that contains a null (-1.0e27) value. If the Drape option is used as an embellishment for any 3D diagram, and the grid that the image is to be draped over has not been specified, the following error message will appear: RockPlot2D now loads quicker and with less flickering in the Launch Form. DXF exports from RockPlot3D now use True Colors and support vertical exaggeration. Collada Export is exported in meters. Coordinate system has to be set but does not have to be in decimal degrees. The Depth-to-Target program now provides for a minimum G-Value when computing the depth to maximum G-Value. This eliminates background-levels from consideration. In addition, a color legend may now be added to the output. The maximum number of cutoff levels has been increased from three to six within the Display as IsoShells, Solids -> 3D IsoShell Animations, Time-Based Volumetrics programs in RockWorks2020 When generating IsoShell animations, empty models will generate a warning message rather than an error message. This prevents the process from disrupting a long Playlist process. Cosmetic An explanatory diagram has been added to the new Solid Modeling / Options / Constrain page. The Output Options menu for programs that generate 3D diagrams has been redesigned to be consistent with the Output Options menu for 2D diagrams. The notice/reminder that appears within the Striplogs page no longer appears behind the clipping parameters menu. The TCE Site Playlist has been modified to accommodate the new solid modeling Constrain option and the changes to the Multiple Solids (aka TimeMachine) program. The Multiple Solids help message and abstract have also been modified accordingly. The default width of the dialog box that appears when renaming a RockWorks2020 Playlist item has been increased to 800 pixels to allow for longer descriptions. Ampersands (&) are now displayed within the Grid2DipSymMap, RuColMultiFilt, SolidGridFilter, Vpanels, and Vpanels2Xyzg program titles and/or descriptions. Arrows symbols are no longer preceded by hyphens within the Pgon, R2d2Mif, R2d2Pdf, and R2DtoReportworks programs titles and/or descriptions. Bug Fixes DXF exports from RockPlot3D now correctly place polylines at their correct elevation. Restored the upper tabs for P-Data Fence diagrams. The Optimize column layout for the datasheet now honors the Preferences setting. Improved the accuracy of coordinates in RockPlot3D. Draped images now align correctly with the grid dimensions. The Animate / Solids -> 3D animation program now uses the specified color scheme. The margin and line width are now honored in RockPlot2D exports to raster images. Items within the Playlist that use custom color tables will no longer alter other items that use custom color tables if the item is edited. The Playlist / Add / Project Dimensions option now works correctly. Items that are edited within the Playlist no longer change the settings within the corresponding application within the main menu bar. Modifying a Slice Position for Solid Models in RockPlot3D (RW2020) using the mouse on the slider bar now updated the position in the title of the Slice Options dialog. Double ampersands (&&) within program descriptions are now shown as single ampersands when adding items to the Playlist. The Vertex Table options within the Graphics / 2D Tools / Enclosing Polygon program in RockWorks2020 now have check-boxes to determine how the vertices will be saved. Documentation The RockWorks2020 TCE Site Playlist and PDF have been adjusted to reflect the recent changes to the IsoShell cutoff levels within the program. A PDF file titled "Time-Based Modeling, Analysis & Visualization" is now included within the TCE Site folder for RockWorks2020. This paper is intended to serve as a step-by-step tutorial for using the Playlist to model, visualize, and analyze a TCE groundwater contaminant that is migrating over time. Abstracts have been added to a number of menu options. We recommend that Network license users install the RockWare Network License Administrator v. 1.15. 12. Customers have recently reported errors after installing Igpet2020 for Windows. On program launch: Path Not Found 76 After clicking OK, they were then prompted to browse for various settings files. Then: Path/File access error 75 After clicking OK, this message: Press the Preferences button (next window), find a valid path to your data files, then press Save Preferences. On program close: Run-time error '76': Path Not Found The solution is quite simple. Be sure you have unzipped the IgpetFiles folder to your Documents folder, as instructed by the installation PDF. It is this IgpetFiles folder that contains the files which are needed by the program. It should contain 6 sub-folders: CMAS, Controls, Data Files, Diagrams, MIN, and PC. Be sure the IgpetFiles folder with said subfolders is not nested inside another folder. The hierarchy should be: Documents IgpetFiles CMAS Controls Data Files Diagrams MIN PC The hierarchy should NOT BE: Documents IgpetFiles IgpetFiles CMAS Controls Data Files Diagrams MIN PC Molly Mayfield RockWare Inc (thanks to KatyD who figured this out!)

  17. New versions of RockWorks17 (64- and 32-bit) were uploaded to the RockWare website today, with the following changes: Bug Fixes Eliminated the Access Violation error when dragging a RockPlot3D View node in the scene's data tree. Also improved the positioning when dropping a View node. Programs that required appending multiple 2D diagrams (e.g. Profiles with Location Maps) weren't updating the header correctly so the initial plot extents were wrong. 18. Hi JuDi, I would next check how the downhole survey data are entered into the Orientation table for Well #3. Be sure it is using the same inclination format as the other wells. RockWorks accepts three different well survey formats, but all holes need to use the same format. See this help topic for information: https://help.rockware.com/rockworks17/WebHelp/data_bh_orientation.htm Also, if you are using the Striplogs | 2D | Single Log program to plot the logs individually, there are a number of settings which will affect how a deviated well will plot: 1) View Direction: Represents the direction toward which the log should be viewed. If your hole deviates toward the north, for example, and you enter 0 for the view direction, you will get a head-on view of the log, rather than a sideways view with View Direction = 90. 2) Plot Vertical: Will force an inclined or deviated well to display as vertical in the log diagram. 3) Use True Vertical Depth: Will scale the log vertically using TVD rather than measured depth. 4) Unwind: Will plot a deviated well unwound toward the right. See this help topic for more information: https://help.rockware.com/rockworks17/WebHelp/striplog_single.htm If you are displaying the logs in cross section with other logs, the display will depend on the type of diagram you are generating. Profiles always display logs projected onto the slice plane with survey orientation honored. Sections always display logs as vertical (with TVD as an option) at panel edges. Projected Sections project logs vertically onto the slice planes. Contact us by email if you are able to send us your data for review. Best regards, Molly
  19. Hi Wenli, Thanks for your posting. 1. Be sure you do not have the "Clip" option checked in the 2D Striplog options window. 2. Be sure that the TD for the borehole (Location table) is not shallower than the extents of the actual data. If you have multiple holes for which this is an issue, there is an "Adjust Total Depths" option in the Borehole Manager's Edit menu which can automatically push TD's to the depth extents of the data in bulk. See this help link for a discussion. If these do not solve the log clipping problem, it would be helpful to see the data and program settings. Contact support at rockware.com for sending these to us. Best regards, Molly Mayfield

  21. New versions of RockWorks17 (64- and 32-bit) were uploaded to the RockWare website today, with the following changes: Improvement Users can now specify a margin (in percent) for the Y Axis in Profiles, Projected Sections and Sections. The default is 0 so that these diagrams will appear the same as in previous versions. The resolution of RockPlot2D maps to Google Earth has been increased. Bug Fixes Anchor Text in RockPlot2D was improperly offset from the surrounding border when the text was long. Anchor Text in RockPlot2D was plotting in the wrong location when using high vertical exaggerations and an angle other than horizontal (90) The symbol line thickness in Borehole Maps is now honored. Contour Labels in RockPlot2D weren't being drawn in exports to Google Earth. The Multi-Log map now displays correctly. The Depthbar conversion for elevations wasn't being saved to the file. The "Order By" clause was malformed when exporting I-Data, T-Data or I-Text - All tracks, no filtering. Setting the Depths datum (from where the depths are measured from Elevation or Collar) was being set after recalculating XYZ data instead of before. Saved 3D Point objects (e.g. LiDAR points) weren't being saved correctly leading to them not being displayed when reopened. Replaced a divide by zero error with a message if there are no patterns when opening the Pattern Picker. 23. New versions of RockWorks17 (64- and 32-bit) were uploaded to the RockWare website today, with the following changes: Improvement Improved the placement and resizing of Anchor Text when plotted with vertical exaggerations greater than 1. Bug Fixes The Color Fill for the Symbol dialog in ReportWorks was on the wrong page. Very large RockPlot3D files with large amounts of text no longer cause an Access Violation when being saved. Boreholes with only 1 unit where the Stratigraphic Top is equal to the TD weren't being included in surface grids. Depthbar Elevations in 2D Logs were displaying as 0.0 when loaded from a file.
