| Main Message |
- An enhanced user interface supporting the 'Sheets' concept popularized by Studio 3.

| Control Bars |
- Already popular in Studio 3, the concept of a Sheets control bar has now been introduced to Downhole Explorer, enhancing the management of overlays.
- The remaining control bars mimic the functionality of Studio 3, making inter-operations between both products more familiar.
- Control bars can be docked, floated, resized, shown or hidden, making customized user interfaces easy.

| Improved Usability |
- You can now 'Drag and Drop' files from the Windows desktop.
- Fully-updated help files and a completely new tutorial containing many exercises to familiarize new users quickly.
- A revised legend wizard that makes the process of creating object-specific or generic display legends simpler.

| Data Display Templates |
- A new 'Display Templates' function to allow formatting information to be stored as a template and applied to another data object, even in another project. This is particularly advantageous when formatting downhole columns. This is a brand new feature for DHX 3.2 (also available in Studio 3)
- Templates can be stored and shared within a project, or across multiple projects for files of the same data type.
- Very simple interface, enhancing the familiar Format Display dialog.
- Create templates from existing overlays
- Store overlays as a separate, small system file, for easy portability/distribution.

| Full OLE Object Support |
- Downhole Explorer 3.2 now supports the embedding of OLE plot items such as Excel spreadsheets, Access views, sound files and any other item that supports the OLE environment. Objects can be embedded in a 'live' context, allowing the external document to 'feed' the plot view on next startup, or a freeform snapshot can be embedded. Interactive content can be added by adding the content as a link to an external application (AVI player, Flash player etc.). The interface is simple, with this powerful new feature being added as a new Plot Item Library item.

| 3D Interactive Grids Facility |
- Grids are no longer restricted to a single plane, and can be displayed as individually formatted 3D objects. You can set the grid to align with the view plane, the section plane or a custom orientation using absolute grid extents, infinite extents or 'smart' grids that will snap themselves around a selected object. Full support is retained for the original grid settings for this release only. Projects containing grid settings will be automatically updated to the new 'engine' on import and will be, graphically, no different to their original guise, however, far more options are now open to you to re-configure your grid setup.

| Datamine Data Converter |
- Datamine Data Converter (DDC) is a standalone application used for the transfer of data between different formats, specifically it is aimed at providing a mechanism for the automated translation of file formats on a batch basis. DDC allows you to access some of the available driver functions via a scripting environment, allowing the process of conversion to be automated and batch-based. This utility has a dedicated help file and tutorials, and is available from the Extras folder on your application CD.

| Other Enhancements and Additions |
- Dimension arrows - a new plot item can be added as both 2D or 3D plot items.
- A new Measure tool to quickly assess virtual distances.
- A new Flash-driven CD Launcher.
- "Collar-down - Toe-up" drillhole support now implemented.
- Insert images into log tables (core sample representations), fully matched to log scale values.
- Additional downhole column formatting (section plane pierce point, section corridor entry point etc.) including independent marker symbol selection.
