- ArcGIS Publisher 9 now contains options for creating data packages for easy distribution of maps and data. The options for data packaging in ArcGIS Publisher 9 include:
- Clip vector and raster data to the needed spatial extent.
- Export vector data in its original format or convert it to shapefile, personal geodatabase, or a compressed format that can be locked to the PMF for security.
- Export raster data in its original format or convert it to an ERDAS IMAGINE file.
ArcGIS Publisher 9 now provides an ArcReader developer control so you can build your own ArcReader applications. Some of the key features of the ArcReader control include:

ArcGIS Publisher 9 provides additional security for your published map files. These additional security settings include:
- A security setting for restricting access to published map files so they can only be opened with the ArcReader application.
