| Map Projections |
In the real world, data come in many different projections and datums; UTM, longitude / latitude, State Plane, NAD 27, WGS 84, and more. Surfer handles all these projections with ease. Set the projection of the main map, and other data, GRD, and base map layers are all converted automatically. |
| Combine data from many different map projections into a single map. |
| 64-Bit Version |
Both the 32-bit or the 64-bit versions of Surfer come with the installation package. The 64-bit version lets you use more memory for larger data models. |
| Install the 64-bit version of Surfer under Windows 64-bit for access to more memory beyond the 32-bit limit of 3GB. |
| Export Maps to Google Earth |
Export your longitude / latitude maps to KML and KMZ formats for viewing in Google Earth. Use the new Map Projections features in Surfer to convert your coordinates to longitude / latitude as needed. |
| Create your maps in Surfer, convert to longitude / latitude coordinates, then export to KML/KMZ and open in Google Earth. |
| Easily Specify Major/Minor Contours with the Property Manager |
The new Property Manager provides a simple way to specify bold lines for every fifth contour. The old method is retained as well, under the Advanced setting. |
| Use the new "Simple" method in the Property Manager to easily set the major contour lines to a bold line thickness. |
| Display and Digitize Z Values |
The Surfer 10 status bar now displays Z values as move the cursor over a map containing Z information. The Digitize command lets you click on the map to record the XYZ data to an ASCII file. |
