Diagnostic flow plots
AQTESOLV for Windows introduces a set of diagnostic plots that help you choose appropriate aquifer models and solutions methods for your pumping test data. The diagnostic plots display your data on transformed axes to help identify features such as wellbore storage, fracture flow and spherical flow.


Radial Flow Plot

Radial Flow plots are useful diagnostic tools for identifying radial (infinite-acting aquifer) flow behavior and wellbore storage.

  • On semi-logarithmic axes, late-time data exhibiting a straight line on a Radial Flow plot are indicative of radial flow conditions in an infinite-acting aquifer.
  • On double logarithmic axes, early-time data exhibiting a unit slope on a Radial Flow plot are indicative of wellbore storage.


Linear Flow Plot

Linear Flow plots are useful diagnostic tools for identifying fracture flow behavior.

  • On double logarithmic axes, early-time data exhibiting a unit slope on a Linear Flow plot are indicative of linear flow conditions to a single fracture with infinite conductivity or uniform flux along the fracture.


Bilinear Flow Plot

Bilinear Flow plots are useful diagnostic tools for identifying fracture flow behavior.

  • On double logarithmic axes, early-time data exhibiting a unit slope on a Bilinear Flow plot are indicative of bilinear flow conditions to a single fracture with finite conductivity.


Spherical Flow Plot

Spherical Flow plots are useful diagnostic tools for identifying spherical flow behavior.

  • On double logarithmic axes, early-time data exhibiting a unit slope on a Spherical Flow plot are indicative of spherical flow conditions.
