Customizing ArcReader |

The Publisher extension allows you to create custom ArcReader applications or embed ArcReader capabilities into existing applications. |
This is done by programming with the ArcReader Control, which can be used with an industry-standard desktop development environment such as Microsoft Visual Basic.

In addition to the functionality available to ArcReader users, developers can also perform simple data queries to enhance the data exploration and navigation of the map. The ArcGIS Developer Online site provides more detailed information for developers of the Publisher extension.
Custom applications created with the ArcReader Control can be freely distributed and used by anyone.
