The Problem

Mining Projects Problem
Historical water quality data stored in M.S. Excel can be cumbersome to analyze and display

A Rockware client had over 20 years of water chemistry data stored in Excel files and other tabular electronic formats.  Storage in this format had become cumbersome, and did not allow for easy display, analysis or reporting of data.

The Solution

Mining Projects Problem
Migration of the data into an M.S. Access database compatible with RockWorks15 allowed us to quickly create statistical reports, maps and profiles of the data

Our client asked RockWare to compile this historical data into an M.S. Access database that could be read by the RockWorks15 software.  The database included 20 years of time-based concentration information, well screen levels and potentiometric surface data.  The standard database format used by RockWorks was customized to support lab EDD information not typically displayed in the RockWorks program, such as CAS number, regulatory limits and detection limits.  Database queries were written to construct statistical reports and data exports that could be easily used to create graphs and reports in M.S. Excel.  The RockWorks software was used to create contour maps and profiles displaying potentiometric surfaces within different aquifers at varying time steps.  The RockWare Command Language was used to batch create "Bubble Maps" displaying the concentration of various anayltes measured during annual and quarterly sampling events.
