New Versions
ArcGIS 10
(R)
Now Available!
Work
Faster:
ArcGIS 10 dramatically improves and
simplifies the user experience - create maps with ease and use templates to get
started quickly.
Powerful Spatial Analysis: Use
ArcGIS 10 to see data in 3D, and
create/manage/visualize temporal data.
Improved Imagery Management: With
ArcGIS 10 you can manage massive image
collections with dynamic mosaics and on-the-fly
processing, and save time with faster image display.
Cloud GIS: Find, share, organize, and
use maps, apps, and other resources via the new
ArcGIS.com site - a Web-based gateway into the ArcGIS system. And, you can discover, share, and
present geographic information using ArcGIS
Explorer Online, a new browser-based version of
ArcGIS Explorer.
And much more!

GWB v8
The Complete Set of Aqueous Geochemistry Tools

Over the past 20 years, The Geochemist's
Workbench name has become synonymous with
geochemical modeling. GWB is available
in 3 tiers, each tier with increasing functionality:
GWB Essentials v8: The "essential" set
of aqueous geochemistry tools that every geochemist
should own:
>store water data, convert units, sort, evaluate
replicates and standards, and flag exceedances in
the GSS spreadsheet
>balance chemical reactions
>create redox-pH and activity diagrams
>calculate solution speciation, mineral saturation,
gas fugacities and more
>model ion sorption and surface complexation
>plot Piper, Stiff, series, time series, cross
plot, ternary and numerous other aqueous
geochemistry

the tools of GWB Essentials, and adds powerful
reaction path modeling capabilities:
>polythermal and sliding fugacity reactions
consider mineral dissolution/precipitation kinetics
and redox kinetics
>specify custom rate laws
>model microbial metabolism and growth
>Debye-Huckel or Pitzer activity coefficients
>flow-through and flush configurations

TIPS
RockWorks15: Merging Solid
Models
Use the new RockWorks Merge Models tool to
combine two separate solid models into a single
model. It reads two existing solid models (.MOD) and
either a plane or a grid surface (.GRD). It
creates a new solid model in which the upper portion is
based on one of the originals, and the lower portion
is based on the other
This feature allows you to model different parts
of your geology using different techniques. In the
graphic example below, the upper lithology model
represents regular (horizontally-biased)
interpolation, and the lower was generated with a
regional tilt. Merging these models using a surface
delineating the discontinuity permits the model to
show the two different techniques.

Merge Models is found in the Utilities - Solid |
Math menu.
