TIPS
RockWorks15: Create Easy
Range/Township/Section Maps for your Project Area
First,
be sure you've downloaded the large LandBase
database from our website. (You need to do
this from inside RockWorks - use the Help |
Downloads menu to choose the 8 "RockWare LandBase
New" files. Note that they're BIG - 351 MB -
so plan accordingly for the download time required.)
Then, be sure you've defined your Project
Dimensions and coordinate Projection and Zone in
RockWorks. In the Utilities, select Map | Land
Grid Maps | Section Map, choose the desired output
units (lon/lat, UTM feet, etc.), define your project
units, choose Project Dimensions for your map
extents, and voila!
(Note that you can still define the extents of
your section map using specific Townships or
longitude/latitude coordinates, but using Project
Dimensions is now so dang easy.)
